Thanks for the pics, I didn't take many. Was running around buying parts to try to get the T finished up enough to bring out. Finally made it Sunday afternoon, here's a couple pics of it.

Kevin,,the 5-window was indeed a cool little car as for my truck,,,thank you very much,,and please go have your vision checked as soon a possible,,,I think you need gl***es!:D,,But again,,thank you for the compliment!

There were so many really nice cars and I got to talk to a bunch of Hambers and a lurker or two.

Harrison is right,,the father and son team did have some of the nicest cars there,,,but to be honest,,I saw more thought out well built hot rods and street rods,,,I enjoyed this past weekend even if most of it was spent in the rain!

BTW,,at the awards,,Jerry Kennedy was heckled by a hot rodder,,whos real idenity will remain my little secret,,about the 30 year slidding rule and the whole crowd responded that they didn't aprove of the new ruling,,,what could he say but,,,yeah,,I know,,,

From what I heard,,he got his **** chewed all weekend long.HRP

Kennedy & I were walking by the NSRA booth inside the main building on Friday & heard some old man giving them absolute HELL over the 30 year cutoff.

We just laughed & kept walking.

Yeah, It all comes down to the bottom line $$$$$. The number of entry's are down so they have to expand the cut off to expand the base. Goodguy's was first then Shades of the Past was next. I like all cars but hate to see the pre-48 shows go down the tubes.

Meet a hand full of HAMBers friday at a rather small (compaired to last year) meet and great. I noticed and expected a smaller car count. Still alot of nice cars and as usual some not so nice, but to each his own. Not everyones taste is the same. 30 year ****s, will see rubber bumpers and hear load music. Never the less, if this old man is able, be there next year. Last and sure not least, good to see a few HAMB members.

The GG hasn't been pomparded by the "bandit" Trans AM because they don't allow those years BUT don't kid yourself that there aren't ALOT of Bandit Trans AM owners and lovers out there. Hot Rod TV recently had a whole show dedicated to their gathering and events. Whether they have an interest in attending shows with "older" cars remains to be seen. In any event I will voice my opinion to the powers that be and then let my non-attendance speak for itself. I'm sure I can find a cool event to do the weekend of the NRSA events I normally attend.

I don't think the NSRA cares if you don't attend

You have no clue my relationship with NSRA or any other organization for that matter.

I have not heard a single person who likes the 30 yr rule. I think it should be opened up some but 30 was wrong, to big of a jump to fast

Hotrodprimer, how must did it rain this year.. have not had a chance to talk with the charleston group who went up..

They'll care when enough of us don't attend.

I've only been attending steady for a few years, but I have a good friend who hasn't missed the Knoxville or Lousiville shows since '92. He said he's not going back either.

I heard today that NSRA was re-thinking the 1980 rule. Maybe a 50 year rule? That would at least make it 1959...

    Better?

Got to speak with a NSRA rep. (38 Years) twice while he transported me & my goodies to my truck. He stated that he was firmly against the rule but there was no choice as the membership age #'s were getting high and the new membership was low.

He also stated that the powers that be figured that a 10% loss would be more than covered with the added years.............

Now I took him at his word and could see the frustration in his face about allowing 1978 monte carlos in. Boils down to not enough $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ rolling in. Just seems a 40 year out would be easier to swallow.

The deal isn't going to break me as I attend many more GG's events than NSRA. Its just nice to hit a show or two during the year with the current NSRA cutoff.
