I live out in the country and have this neighbor about 5 houses closer to town than me. I've been driving by his place for 3 years and knew he had a few old cars, you could see them from the road. Well, I was looking for a Dodge "something" to put a 440/727 I aquired into & a friend told me to go see this neighbor. So I pulled in & introduced myself, the guy was super friendly. We got to talking & he gave me "the tour".... My neighbor has tons of cool old cars! He has them all parked so they are hard to spot from the road, lots of bushes & trees as camo. His garage is full of neat old parts. Also in there is a '47 Buick he done up, most perfectly beautiful car I've ever seen....strait 8 w two 2bbl's & split manifold & duals.....sounded increadible. Taken so many trophies with that one he lost count. He has a couple 60's Olds Starfires, a couple mid 50's Desoto's w hemis, several corvair convertibles, '64 El camino, '59 buick, a couple mid-late 50's Pontiacs, '69 Polara 500 convertible, '67 Polara 'vert, Edsel, an old Comet 'vertible, '65 D100 SWB, holy **** my brain is melting down just trying to remember it all! There was more that we didn't get to and more I didn't list but the point of this whole post was I didn't even know they were there! Once I knew where to look I could actually see some from the road through the brush but if you didn't know where to look you'd miss 'em. Anyone ever discover they've been driving by sweet old cars unknowingly? It makes me wonder what else I've been missing...... -John
Oh, & did I mention he's from Nevada? And almost EVERY one of those cars is complete, running, and rust free..............????
yea my neighbor has a 63 chevy c10 and a 65 ford pu. he has a 69 charger undercover in his driveway and somethin else in this garage that he quit workin on because theres boxes of parts in the car. tryin to get him to sell me the 63 chevy. i also have another neighbor that has a demon sittin in his drive way with a nice dent in the front right panel.
I hide my cars keeps the dumb offers down and keeps the city off my back. When I was younger and built a Studebaker truck I had people tell me that they knew were another one was but in worse shape and proceed to tell me about my truck. Did not hide that one well learned my lesson now you only know if I show you.
You have to hide them if you want to keep them.I know of a guy that had about 60 55-57 Chevies stashed out behind some trees. You could only see them from the air. Some one notified the government of his "junk" and the county got on his *** about getting rid of them.He finally had to sell them off since he could not house them all.I love living in a 'free' country.
