An absolute fantastic day! I'm so glad I made it and everything went well especially since I swapped the busted trans a week earlier... Pasadena Roadster Club did a GREAT job!

Thanks again to all at the PRC for putting on another great event!!

As the miracle award winner id like to post an update & comment: My car made it to dinner that evening then took a flatbed ride home(lifter noise & frozen starter).
Much the same last year, gave up in my driveway after the run(radiator & carb issues)

This car must have a sole. After all the hours wrenching to make that once forgotton build ready(or the best i could do), it refused to give up on the run.

Allready started tearing down for next year.

    Look out

Each year when looking at pics from this run I'm speacthless leaning backward in the chair thinking....THIS is the best compilation of cars to be found.

The Reliability Run is open to any 1936 and older American-design roadster or other open-bodied hot rods so long as they look era correct. Not restricted just to Ford's.

Man, that must be one of the coolest runs on earth to take part in. Soooooo many real hotrods in one place.

  11. Hey Kev,

Sorry I missed you this year, had to go to PHX for a funeral...about the only way I'd miss this event. Looking forward to next year!

I'm not great with names especially when I'm worrying about whether or not the roadster is going to start and stay running all day. So I'd like to thank everyone who came by and enjoyed Sandy's roadster being there and especially everyone ***ociated with the PRC.

I was humbled by the Best Roadster award, I couldn't make up my mind which I thought was my favorite, probably the Chrysler Indy roadster though, the gr*** is always greener right; so I'd just like to say thanks for a memorable time I'll look back to many times and remember fondly as my first Reliability Run.

A lot of folks asked if the roadster was a recent build and it is not. It was taken apart and mechanically rebuilt, I saved as much of the old mans finger prints as I could then put it back together. FYI it was first built in '37 and he raced it like this until "42 at which time it was basically parked.

Hope to see you guys before next year.

Ps: anyone who was wondering what or who a Sandy Belond is check my other post, I did a little bio of him.

Michael, I added this to your Intro Post...but I'll add it here also.

My dad talked to his good friend and neighbor Bob D'Olivo (long time Peterson Publishing Photog)...and told him about seeing the Sandy's Muffler car. Bob said he and Sandy, alond with Vic Edelbrock Sr and Racer Brown played golf together on a regular basis. Small world.

BTW, We talked right before the run...I was with my dad in the bare metal 32 rpu with the open pipes...
