Well Dick Stark is the Old guy who you bought it from and If memory serves me correct him and His brother Gene used to run it on Nitro way back when. I remeber them telling me that nitro was cheap back then and everybody ran it. So they probably ran it in AGAS at some point. I'm shocked that He sold the car, I thought he has practically had it since it was new, I'm joking but they have had that car forever, both him and his brother are in their 80's and go to every show and swap meet possible. Super nice guys. 22 G's is cheap and yes it is a Model A I don't care what the pink slip says. I wonder if the economy had something to do with his retirement and he was forced to sell the car. Man that really sucks.
Nice car. Loaded with 32 stuff - dash, grill shell, cowl vent, may have 32 windshield posts, but the stanchions are 30-31. 32 fuel tank with what look like 32 rear frame horns. Rear wheel well beads ID it as an A, 32's are quite different. Straight bottom line of body also ID it as an A. 32's bottom body line is swoopy to match the swoopy 32 frame. Regardless, heck of a nice car and well done. It could be registered as a 32 if it has a new title. If it's the old title it's conceivable it was a very late 31 first registered in 32. From what I understand there were T's registered as 28's. If the cowl vent looks like a stock install, you may have a piece of rare Ford history on your hands.
Very nice score ! I think you did real well . As for all the what year shit , 30,31,32 , as long as the guy likes it and is happy with what he bought that is all that matters . I agree with most on the year but with a different grill and frame , hey that's a traditional hot rod ! RIGHT ? If I had the money I would have done the same thing and brought it home with me ! Damn nice roadster by all means !
You said 85% ??? Looks done to me! Congratulations! BTW: According to the Deuce book, 32s were still in prototype stage at the beginning of the year. As someone else suggested, it could well be a transition model and as such would be quite rare and a good score.
It's NOT a '32 body. It's a '30/'31- PERIOD. It's NOT a T frame. PERIOD. If you want me to qualify myself give me a call.
Yeah, because it would have been REALLY HARD to keep gas in the tank with that big flapping door in the middle of it. Just because someone SLIGHTLY modifies a Model A all of a sudden it's a rare one-of-one Prototype? I need to start welding Deuce scraps onto some bodies and selling them to you guys!
I just found it's SUPER RARE PROTOTYPE cousin in Royal shifters post!!! Who would have thought TWO such ULTRA RARE pieces would surface at the same time??? Oh wait, these are hot rods like the 100s of thousands of other modified cars in the world.
I've noticed that everyone's an expert here and quite a bit of mis-information goes around. Do your homework before you throw out "facts" and try to "help"! The fact is it's a 30-31 Roadster on a T frame. The T frame is from a large 1 ton big T truck. How do I know this? Well because I know the guys that built the car and was around when they were doing it. The body is a 30/31 model a and it has had a 32 cowel vent installed I know the guy who installed it for the guy you bought it from and I was at his shop several times when he was doing the work! The car has also received a 32 style door treatment so the doors fit flush instead of overlapping. And those are the facts...Period! Either way it's a nice car, congratulations!
Really nice car, but it is a Model A, 30 or 31. Has some mod's to make it look more like a deuce, but it's a Model A. If you were told it was a deuce when you bought it I'd go talk to the guy you bought it from, personally I'd keep it. It's a nice car and the price wasn't bad.
