Bettlejuice, if that just had the 427 Bird, (and the XL quarter embelm) it was a dead ringer for my SOHC powered 64. Very Nice! Eric
Much appriciated! I'm cleaning up the body on it now, it was a 10 footer, but I'm gonna get things good and smooth and lay down a fresh black BC/CC, I can't wait! Just finished up redoing electrical and a fresh interior (need to take some pictures, I put some work into the interior, gotta make a couple fixes first), had to do clutch/flywheel before that, you can't keep me outta that car, I drive it everywhere, drum brakes and lumpy motor in the rain! There's only certain cars that with a basic black paint job, factory stance, black wheels and dog dishes make you think "hum, that thing might be a bit serious", but the Galaxies definitely are. Right now I have no bird to speak of . I need new emblems and was gonna wait til I finished painting, technically I'll be a 390 bird (unless I find some good deals in the local papers! I may've just found a 65 Mustang rear for the A cheap!)
Damn it man, I understand to many projects at once. The steels and dog dish look is the best! Going after the same thing. Best to you, and I can't wait to see more! Eric
It's a 390 4-speed car. He recently rebuilt the 390, added a cam, Performer RPM intake, and Demon carb. The T-10 is also recently rebuilt and he is in the process of going through the rear end. It'll soon have a posi and 3.70 gears! Runs pretty damn good and it IS a great looking car. He also just installed a bigger sway bar in the front and will be adding one at the rear...
I don't know how "Cool" this picture is, but it is me and my '63 that I bought from the original owner for $100. Four door, Four barrel 390 all original. The lady I bought it from was a friend of my moms, I told he 25 years ago that if she ever wanted to get rid of the car to come see me.
Malcome, Your car looks great. Great stance, and those cl***ic lines of the early Galaxie's. Nice Job!
Thanks... if you are referring to the '62 in my avatar The '63-1/2 that I posted the photo of is owned by a friend of mine... great looking car!
Malcolm, Any of the 61 to 64's are cool. 62's are sure coming on in popularity. Keep us updated! Eric
The first '63 1/2 Fastback I ever saw, was sitting in the showroom at Buddy NeSmith Motors in Cochran, Georgia. I walked around that Wimbelton white with red interior beauty, studying it from every angle. To my young eyes, this was a real work of art. They have withstood the test of time.
This has to be one of the coolest '63 I have ever seen. A '63 doesn't need much to knock down the walls.
A buddy of mine had a pretty neat '63 Sedan lowered in the rear 60's style w/Cragars and whitewalls, shaved w/ panel flames on the lower front fenders. Everywhere he went he got at least one "Hey nice Chevy" comment. HAHA
