they are expensive to buy and rebuild.... if you can find them. the housings can be polished. rod n custom did a feature on a remake of the Spalding Bros. 24 T track roadster which is running a set of roto flows. http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featuredvehicles/0709rc_1924_ford_roadster/front_suspension.html you dont see them often on cars in old pictures, (at least in the couple hand fulls of vintage track roadster pictures ive seen) but the company has been around for a long time... i believe they made aircraft shocks during ww2 and adapted the design for commercial use after. it is/was a British company.... perhaps some of our limey buddies can chime in. the shocks come in 2 different sizes... large and small.... the large ones fit '32 frames best.
i believe there is guy in the san francisco area that rebuilds them, someone i know had his rebuilt and they worked great... i will be finding out more as time permits. seems like rebuilding a pair will be about $300.00 /pair this thread has good information & links http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70294&highlight=rotoflo
