This is the Ratkee/Miller Special. I was hired to fabricate everything and basicly make it a roller.

It will be ran in the VOT4 cl*** on a 130 mph record.

    They'll do alright,

    I wish them luck.

The grille was bought at Hershey about ten years ago. We don't know who built it. It was VERY rough..

Once we get it straight I'm going to have some more made.

    I'llkeep ya'll posted.

I know why SCTA has gone to the full roll cage. It saves lives. But it sure looks out of place on some cars. Will we see it there in August?

    Nice build.

Is it all new construction or are bits from an old sprinter, have wondered about that SCTA cl*** and if they just had to resemble an old sprinter.

Not at all.. Throw the steering wheel off, stand straight up and hop out.

There trying to get it there this august.

All new parts.. But you can use old stuff.

    --------------------

Yes, top and bottom cage are completely removeable.

I'm jealous that I don't and probably will never have a salt flat car. The car is nice... But that cage looks like an after thought. espescially the bar around the steering wheel.

The fab work is great, just out of place on that car.

  14. i think it all unbolts. an even better afterthought.

There really is no other choice if you want to run the car...it's not an afterthought, it is a retrofit. And a real nice one too.

I bet that when you started making those cars, you never thought someone would want to run one at bonneville.

    Very cool.

The cage wasn't an after thought.. It's what SCTA requires.. PLUS, we wanted to be able to take the cage off and have a REAL race car. Otherwise I'd have put it inside the body.

Be sure to do it that way on yours someday..
