Have any of the truck owners ever ordered any parts from LMCtrucks.com??? I just ordered a brake mastercylinder from them and want to know how they are. I paid about 108.70 if anyone knows anything cheaper for future reference for parts for my 49 F-1 pickup. please let me know so I don't have to battle with the wife on spending a grip of money... Thanks Fellas GeBo49
Try MidFifty's 1-800-252-1956. They are starting to carry 48-52 Ford Truck parts as an addition to their complete line of 53-56 parts. Kevin RodDoors
I have ordered a bunch of stuff from them in the past and am always pleased. Most of there Items are the same ones that all the other suppliers sale. (a lot of there stuff comes from dennis carpenter..etc...etc). They ship quick (which is important to me since my trucks are my daily drivers). They also have great customer service.....if something is damaged in shipment or isnt' right they make it right real quick no questions asked. I have ordered stuff from a lot of the other vendors too.......some places are cheaper on cetain types of parts and more pricy on others so I just make sure I shop around before I place an order with any particular vendor. Some places are cheaper on some parts but can take longer to get them and a few places will not let you know that something is backordered or unavialible anymore......I finally had to call and cancel my orders with one place after waiting 2 years.......still backordered...........that is frustrating!!
I bought a bunch of parts for my '65 Chevy from LMC before Christmas. I compe***ively checked prices on all of the items before placing the order except for the rear coil springs. The springs were $170. When I got the parts the quality of everything looked good. The springs had a "CPP" Cl***ic Performance Products sticker on them. I looked them up on the internet, the springs were $100.00 A $70 mark-up by LMC? What the ?@#!! I called them, informed them of the 70% mark-up and asked them what they could do to make it right? The gal snapped back "we don't do price matching!". I sent the coil springs back to LMC and bought them from CPP. Even though I had to eat the shipping charges I still recouped some of my losses. Now I fully understand that this is my bad, I should have checked around. But I still feel that LMC is price gouging on this item. There are a lot of other options for pieces parts; you can bet I won't pick LMC as my first choice in the future.
They're decent. napaonline.com has a decent selection of brake parts for our trucks, especially rear brakes as those part were used on a lot of model years. Their wheel cylinders are like $20 cheaper!
Their rubber products don't fit right either. I think the consensus is that its made in China ****. The doors on my '64 Ford never closed right after installing their weatherstripping. When I replaced them with the more expensive Dennis Carpenter products, they closed perfectly...
That's true, I forgot to say their rubber kinda ****s. I got the rubber that goes around the gas filler neck, it wasn't even close.
Ive had great experience with them. I feel for being a specialty mail order service their prices aren't too out of range either. Im satisfied with them and ill continue buying from them when I absolutely have to.
Everything I ever got from LMC was fine, but like Roddoors said, try MidFifty, they've got a really knowledgable, service oriented staff.
I ordered a bunch of stuff last year- master cylinder, clutch, brake parts- LMC was cheaper on some things- and Rockauto was cheaper on others. I'd say that overall they are compe***ive on most things.
I have bought a lot of stuff from lmc most of the stuff is good but it is good to shop around .Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
I have got a bunch of stuff from LMC for various projects. Some stuff is cheaper then the compe***ion, so you just have to shop around to figure out what they have good prices on.
I always try NAPA first, usually cheaper and I don't have to pay for shipping. If the local store doesn't have it in stock they either have it at their warehouse in Milwaukee or can have it shipped within the week or pay extra and have it shipped next day. The added benefit is if I have a problem I just take it back down to the store and give them heat in person, I don't have to email, wait, get reply, email again, wait, send back, pay more shipping. I've never had a problem with my local NAPA.
Cl***ic Haulers is Midfifty's new 48-52 catalog. Got mine in the mail a couple weeks ago. I've dealt with LMC in the past, and as said, decent quality, but prices have gone way up over the last few years. 1972 F100 grille $1000.00? Um, how does that compute? I can't even sell mine for $100.
I've been very happy with LMC truck and while their prices are not always the best, their service and customer support has always been great and I've determined those are more important to me than price.
I just bought and installed an electric wiper motor for my '49 chevy truck. best price I could find, works great, shipped quick. My only experience.
I know GeBo got his master cylinder in and was pretty satisfied with it. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

LMC is where I go for parts on my 1978 F-150 when local parts stores don't have them or Ford has discontinued them. I have been really satisfied. The little plastic finger cups to pull the door shut, they have in steel. A really good upgrade.
Just got a good sized order from them. Quick shipping, even got a "thank you" card in the mail from them the other day. My dad has used them a lot for his truck. So far so good...
I have bought a lot of parts from LMC Truck for my 1991 Chevrolet S10 Blazer but only if I cannot cannot find the part anywhere else. They are the parts source of last resort. That is why LMC Truck adds a 40% "finders fee" to the price of their parts. Sometimes LMC does not put a brand name on their parts and I have found that some of their parts are nothing but basic aftermarket parts but at a premium price. Sometimes LMC has OEM parts that are still available at the auto dealership parts department but they sell them at the MSRP price plus a 20% mark up.... just for knowing the part number. If you had the part number you could buy it yourself which is seldom at MSRP.
Two weeks ago I ordered a drivers side door from LMC Truck, for my 1950 Chevy P/U, total cost $800. I had been informed through a magazine article that their parts were better quality than other suppliers. So I was willing to pay a premium if it was going to be better quality (and comparing the price with others, I ***umed it was), and it was in stock ready to ship. Ive dealt with offshore replacement parts before and most of it is junk the door arrives in a week and a half and its the same Taiwan door everyone else sells for $400! But thats not the bad part; it was for a 1953 Chevy P/U with wing windows and push ****on door handles. (1950s have one piece windows) so I call LMC and finally get Customer Service. Everybody wants my order number but when they connect me to the next person they dont have my order number so I repeat it again, and again until finally I get Customer Service, but guess what she doesnt have my order number either so I repeat it one more time. She tells me that they have to investigate the problem and will return my call in 24 hours. 24 hours p***es; no phone call. So I call them. Same scenario with the order number, everyone wants it but nobody p***es it on to the next person! Finally Customer Service same woman, but no report on the investigation, now she says its going to be 48 hours, but says she will call me back. 48 hours p***es, no phone call from LMC. I call again the person I talked to is not in, but Im asked, if they can help me. I say Yes, send me a new door, pronto. (They dont know or care that this truck is (was) going to paint in 2 weeks, and I need it now). Ive built cars as an avocation for more than 40 years, and anytime I had a problem like this the Company always said Sir, we are sorry for the inconvenience, well ship a new door (bumper, fender, etc.) this afternoon! Not LMC, they are still screwing around investigating, and I dont care what that means. I spent $800, and I expect a replacement and some real Customer Service. They can advertise on the truck shows on T.V. all they want, but now that that I know they sell the same stuff as every other supplier, and they have lousy Customer Service, I will order from those I have had great service from such as Brothers, and Chevys of the 40s. Its just antidotal, but Ive had contact with them in the past and Im thinking (just my opinion) that their employees sabotage them. I dont know why, but usually good management is not the reason. So here I sit at their mercy. Its now been 3 days, and Im still in LIMBO. Folks, go somewhere else.
ive order alot of stuff from lmc a few years ago it shipped fast but when it got here i was missing one part called them and they shipped it the same day. all the body parts i order fit well also. i would use them again no problem
Here's the resolution to my door problem above. Called LMC Truck on the 4th day, and the woman I talked to is out, but they ask if they can help me. I say "Yes, refund my money and send a shipping label and schedule pick up of this door, I can't wait for you to keep "investigating", and I'm going to get a door from someone who has it in stock, and will send it out today". She says O.K., and I haven't heard from them since. So I hope they follow through on their word. I think the phone personnel is in some location far removed from the warehouse, and the communication isn't working. But what do I know? They lost a customer who spends a lot of money on parts.
