Show me your Flaked Roof!

you like flaked tops? ok,....

 

...and other flaked stuff..

 

Would sure like to know what all went into this flake job. I'm not a painter so I'm clueless as to what it takes for base color, application, etc. But this light blue is what I've been thinking about for my plymouth roof. Any info appreciated.

Sure is a popular gig doin a flake roof. Is this gettin "played out" now as in almost common?

 

Pretty much everything has been done before. That doesn't mean it's not still cool.

man i love me some flaked cadillac roofs, have 3 myself, but this one just doesn't work at all. you took what looks like a pretty nice solid car, and well, it just dosent fit.

its your car, so i guess it really not matter what the **** i think right.....

 

Popular? How so? Maybe here on the Hamb....but....
When POS S-10's, 4 door mid 80's cars and Honda Civics start cruisin' around with 'flaked and laced roofs, etc, then it may be "played" out....just like the flat black/red wheels thing.
But I don't see it happening.....it takes more skill (and $$$) to do this kinda stuff than just rattle cans.....
Not only that....no two flake jobs are the same, as opposed to other "trends". A flat black car is a flat black car...

Not in rural KS anyway......people out here are pretty much stunned when they see my car. It's not that it's a stunning /perfect job, but most people out here don't see flake anywhere but the lake, on b*** boats.

I cant beleive its not been shown but the imperial customs car is one of my favorites and the coi fish on the cadillac was crazy! I kinda liked it just so differant ! Wionder what that car would be like done in the OT but cool japanese VIP style? I included some flake and some lacing as that seems to be the direction the thread has taken and since it has one of my favorite stolen pics of Kirks starliner as is only right ....... enjoy gentlman

Love that roof.

I'm going back and forth between purple and like an emerald green for my roof. That purple looks great. So hard to decide.

Gotta love the Japanese, lol. They build some awesome cars. I love how they take our style and tweak it just slightly to make it their own. When you say VIP style, do you mean like the big bodied Toyotas (Lexus here) slammed with rims and body kits? Or something else?
