Hello. Been reading for some time now but my first post. Basically I live in Rowlett Texas. I have a few motorcycles and just inherited a 1957 Pontiac when my father in law p***ed. Dont know much about the car. I know it has a 347 in it that needs to be rebuilt. Is it worth rebuilding it or can I bolt a 350 into it. In the past we have alwasy built Chevys so this Pontiac stuff is kinda new to me. Oh yeah its also a 2 door. any help or information will be greatly apreciated. It would mean a lot to my wife to get this old car going again

  3. Welcome. I have a 1955 Pontiac starchief that is currently being redone. a 347 v8 is a strong, great running motor. I had one in my 56 pontiac back in high school. Anyways, I got some good contacts for pontiacs and if you do decide to sell the 347, let me know. Post some pix if you got them......

Ill get you some pics. It does still have a 347 but after reading the old service manual i see its the L version motor and it has a 2 barrell. I know it needs a top end becasue it is smoking bad out of the breathers on the valve covers. any help with suppliers will be great. ill go get pics and get em on here
