Its not a belair because it has the 210 trim on it.

 

It has the 210 stainless, not the Bel Air trim. There were a couple of different trim levels- 150, 210, and Bel Air. Do a search here or a google image search.

As to what I'd do- lower it, change to steel wheels and wide whites, and drive it. And I'd probably paint over that "young at heart" on the trunk, lol. Kind of corny for my tastes.

it was put on when it was redone in 1980 something because he said it looked better than the white trim over the rear wheel, it is a belair at heart but not trim-wise...

 

Rat rod or street rod, can't go wrong with either, the guys here love them both.
And, it's a two ten, at least the trim is.

 

lol as it is corny for my taste too..it is in store for flat black epoxy, might leave the roof white, def wide whites, and steelies... funny story too the original owner had a heart attack and passed while working on the engine....idk if that is the reason for it acting up, haha i'd like to think my car isnt haunted...

Chop it drop it and get some 16" steelies with wide whites. Chrome the bumpers, leave the top white, paint the rest a really dark color, either 100% gloss or 80% gloss. Maybe add some red/white pinstriping. I'd put the Bel Air trim back on, and paint that part over the back wheel white with some red striping.

 

Flat black, with stock steel wheels painted red, and wide whitewall tires, lowered, red & white pinstriping, mexican blankets for seat covers, some skulls, and some spider webs.

You would be so cool and different.




Oh, and I seriously doubt its a real Bel Air. I don't think whover "switched the trim" took the time to fill in the holes left from the Bel Air trim.

It has all the 210 trim around the side windows.
Why would someone go through the trouble of changing all of that?

On a serious note... Chrome the bumpers, ditch some of the gaudy trim, shave the handles, lower the car, white steelies, no caps, WWW bias plies, ditch the big striping for smaller "accent" striping.

To me, white cars with white wheels and whitewalls looks pretty cool if done right...

 

this what you do with a 4 door, KISS keep it simple stupid..
this chevy rocks, its stock only mod is its lowered and it looks great.


don't try and make it something its not, ( sorry 4 door lovers )

 

Jack it up. Put some Red DUBS on it. Then paint it flat black with a rainbow painted on the decklid. Drive it around and see who hits on you.

 

first those wheels suck ass,get some chrome reverse,with the fattest wide white you can find,for fucks sake chrome those bumpers!!,drop the shit out of it,roll it as a 4 door,shave the handles,the body would look killer with suede gold paint and a pearl white roof....shave the antenna

 

get some non-homosexual wheels, lower the piss out of it, chrome the bumpers, and ditch that bullshit on the hood and trunk.
and stop worrying about which "hip" click you're going to try to make the car fit-both of the two options you listed are fucking stupid meaningless terms anyway. build a car that doesn't suck and that you like. it's not a popularity contest.
just stop trying to be a tool and do it right.

 

also-i really think that's a 210, not a belair.
AND, take that radio out of the dash, fill the hole with a stock unit and if you think you need a modern unit, stick it in the glove box.

My $.02.... The bagged "slamed" cars are another fad that will be going the way of skulls and spider webs. Just go budget driver. Cut a couple coils up front, 3" blocks in back, yes you need to get the "young at heart" off the back, I like the color though. I'd leave the color, run black walls and chrome baldies. Nice and simple and cheap.

 

BTW, what motor you running? And please chrome the bumpers. Or paint them pink, you pick.

 

Chrome bumpers and steelies painted with spider caps and lower it. this can all be done pretty cheap... you could probably make most of the money by selling the wheels to a high school kid

how is THAT a FUNNY story??????????? I do not like rat rods,but i do get the concept, i wouldn't deconstuct the car to make it less. if you want that look you know they make other flat colors other than black. maybe make a nice custom out of it and go minimalist on it?
