    likely not.

It will most likely be someplace central to the entire north east. That way everyone only has to drive a part of the way... but everyone has to drive. Thats the best part of owning the hot rod... driving it.

That also opens up the possibility of having something to do on Sat night and Sunday, cuz everyone is in town anyway.

dont know thouhg... if a cool enough venue pops up and people are willing to drive to it... we'll see.

Noooo, it's always the third weekend in May. Drags were yesterday and we may keep it over the Carlisle weekend...or maybe the week before. We did catch some people from Carlisle so it kinda worked for us.

It was a big event, large car show, swap meet, lot of race cars. NETO was there. It was cold. Track temp was 47 in the AM. Air was low 30's.

Non stop racing all day, Hot rods from the car show did the 1/8, with lax safety regs. run what ya brung. Regular race cars did the 1/4. They moved the show along nice. We were there to do two exibition runs with two Nostalgia alchohol Funny Cars and they got us in the program when they said they would time wise, most tracks are always running late, they did good.

Nice old style facility that also has a banked 1/2 mile dirt track that runs on Sat nights. Huge parking and pits. And a good location off I-90, the M*** pike extention, about 15 miles east of Albany NY. It's right on Rt. 20 the NY states' 2 lane east-west main old road.

    Thanks for asking.

Anybody else ever been to the old airbase? Check the satellite pic, lots of room. It's really just about on the ocean, a couple of minutes away. Lots of motels all along the RI shoeline. Rods at the ocean is a great idea.

But isn't that airstrip now a town rec area? How tough would it be to get a show there?

Bringing this back from the dead. Still working on a couple of options. I dont want to step on any existing shows, in either time or space.

Late Aug or first week in Sept would work farther north, Mid Oct. would work further south.

will be talking to some folks about doing either, keep them PM's coming.

You should check out New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville NJ its an easy drive from from New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC. There are 36 million people within a 2 hours drive.

Also A car show on the boardwalk in Wildwood NJ would be great

If it is going to be a Billetproof North East then it should be in the NorthEast JMHO! I would be very happy to see this happen either way!. I can not believe I missed this thread. Good Luck Alan and i hope this goes through. I will be there for sure.

Wheels of Time Jamboree is on Aug. 28,29,30 this year. Traditional and street rods also customs up to 1969 . We should have over 2250 cars.

It may not be North enough, But you should look at the Washington DC Metro Area.

The Showdown pulls over 500 cars and I be willing to bet half are from Maryland and Virginia.

    August: Macungie; Richmond NSRA.

September: Ty Rods (MA); ***berland MD, early September; GG Pocono's; Mobtown Grease ball; Lead East, Labor Day; NSRA Burlington VT - early September.

October: the endless summber cruise OC MD (draws 2k - 3k cars). Fall Carlisle, Hershey AACA. Jalopy Showdown Drags; Nostalgia Drags (Capital Raceway so. MD)

While Carlisle fairgrounds is very spacious, they have major car events nearly every weekend from May thru Septmber.

With hotrodding shows being popular, it might be best just to pick a date not competing with a major existing event and then pick a location that is easy to get to and has lots of space. Then just publicize the event. A Billetproof event will normally have an exclusive group attending. And I figure that the turn out could be several hundred vehicles. A lot, but still small relative to some local events (our local event pulls 700 plus cars each month). Unless clearly defined, there could be quite a few cars turned away the first year because they won't meet the criteria of the event.

I hope a place and time can be decided upon. I couldn't do Florida this year so having one closer to home would be great.
