What do y'all know about the combination wheelie & traction bars Da Grump ran for a short time before the Vega? Here are a few pics of what I'm talking about:

The match race of the day featured Grumpy's white Camaro verses the Sox & Martin Pro Stock Plymouth. Bill had the wheelie bars set very high and to the delight of the drag fans, pulled really tall and long wheelstands all day."

Someone else on another forum said they were sleeved into the traction bars and held in place by bolts. According to the caption from the first pic, they must have been adjustable in some way. Does anyone know how?

Yeah, I figured making them adjustable length would be the easiest. I can envision making the angle adjustable too, but I would be inclined to use rod ends or heim joints, which seems like it might have been kinda fancy for back then.

What do you think the wheels were made of? Steel?

The Grump is one of my hero's. I themed my 68 Camaro towards the look of his cars.:D
