my buddys shop was broken into yesterday morning and his rolling ch***is was stolen it was a 70s chevy pickup with a built small block and built trans and a posi rear if anyone hears of anyone selling a stripped truck dont buy it its prolly stolen , contact me the truck is a 78 chevy ch***is was all done up painted and smoothed i hate thieves guys be careful of who comes around your shop
Yes, but the authorities aren't involved. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the ch***is & stuff. That ****ing ****s. I always get people wanting to sneak a peek inside my shop, but only my friends are allowed in because I just don't trust anyone else. If someone I don't know gets a peek inside, I usually let it be known that I pack a sidearm at all times.
I feel for your friend man...that ****s. About 10 years ago, I was working on my '67 Hemi Coronet R/T convertible and I senced someone else in the garage, I looked up and saw this dude just standing there. I said who the hell are and what the hell do you want...he said he was at a bar the night before and heard that there was an old hemi car in the neighborhood and he wanted to see it for himself. I have enough drunken idiots in my garage...I don't need any uninvited ones.
Just curious if this was in a residential area or an industrial area? Any chance that somebody has surveillance cameras that may have caught the thieves vehicle or anything on camera? Was the truck INSIDE the garage, or parked somewhere outside? Seems like a tow truck or a roll back would have to be involved since it wasn't a running vehicle...somebody had to see that thing getting pulled. If you are in an industrial area, be very wary of traffic at neighboring shops, etc. Prying eyes are everywhere! Any photos of the truck? I'll keep an eye out down here in the Alamo city. Scott
A picture or additional information would help a lot. It takes every bit of information to help in locating stolen goods. Someone saw it when it was taken or going down the street so placing notices in the local paper does help also.
I feel bad for you guys down south. Not because every time you turn around something is stolen... but because you live down south. You poor *******s. JOE
What if Live Wire is next? Evel you better make you move a but sooner so you can keep an eye on that thing.
This kinda shtuff is bull ****..dont those dumb *** theifs in TX know they could have been lit up? must be drugs or something like that to make a man not think about the chances he might be taking with his life. I think if it was me..I'd bate the ****er and send him to his maker I hope you find your project, and get a chance to spit some beach nut in that dudes eye
There's no way to SNEAK a rolling ch***is anywhere. In a very populated area like that SOMEONE saw SOMETHING
I'm not even close to the area but a few things would help the guys in the area. 1. What section of town/ 2. Photos, especially of custom work on the ch***is or distintictive pieces on the engine and drivetrain. 3. Any stray charactors around the shop lately including buddies of buddies. 4. I hate to say it but what about buddies or relatives that are in the habit of telling others what he has and is building. I'd say that most thieves can gather info at a bar, speed shop, parts house or cruise night as far as that goes along with spotting stuff on the net. 5. Does he owe anyone money that he hasn't paid? 6. A crackhead might break in and steal your tools or what trinkets an parts he can pack off or steal a car from the driveway but this sounds like a pretty well planned operaton.
Must be your buddy who got ripped off. He posted this "Reward" ad on craigslist with pics of his setup... http://austin.craigslist.org/pts/1155003607.html
