I'll be taking delivery of a 47 Studebaker pick-up this week and was wondering if any HAMBERS own one or have pics of one. If you do, please post any pics. Thanks.

I've got a 46 M-5, so do several others on here. It's being taken apart right now so I can work on the frame and suspension. But here's a pic anyway.[IMG]

    Nova subbed,loooong arduous disc brake conversion,PS,305/TH 350(soon to 700R4),58 posi 3:55 rear.

Does anybody elses p***enger door not line up at the body line(with the cab) under the window? I've seen at least 30 of these trucks and they were all misstamped or misaligned at South Bend...

The 47 is a great Stude Truck, I've seen a few at some of the regional Stude meets, and there is one locally but it has the power plant transplanted to Chevy. The original 6 is a great power plant and is worth saving.

I know where there is a 47-47 Studebaker 1/2 ton that has been sitting behind a guys house for several years and it has never been moved. It is not that far from my place. I can check it out if someone is interested in it. Dont know if its for sale 'cause I have never stopped.

    I love 'em!
I think they look like cartoons of trucks - all fat and curvy!

I have purchased these M16's in the last 5 weeks plus many many parts. I'll be putting the green one on an S10 and looking for a bed if anyone knows of one in the PNW. The red one will stay in the 1 1/2 ton format.

    Working on this one now.

Photo of it in mock up from 2 years ago. Starting on it again. It's sitting on an 87 Dakota ch***is. No suspension mods. Just on the bone stock Dakota rails with hockey puck body mounts on poorly fabricated body mounts (will be redoing all of that soon). Yanked out the ******* 87 3.9L piece of **** motor and auto trans. Currently in process of getting a 350 SBC belly****on motor and a 700r4 installed.

Sonicweb, checked out your site awhile back. Nice build so far. I like the later bed on the truck (always thought the stock rear fenders looked a bit small) Glad to see you're gettin back at it.

Two of my cabs have both doors that way. The third cab is jus the drivers side. The rest of the doors line up, like you said - maybe a misstamp? The p***enger door on my third cab has that body line lined up perfectly. That's most likely due to the huge by large dent in the door skin. Looks like someone hit it with sphere the size of a 30 gallon trash can. Hey, maybe thats the solution to the misalignment, just put a huge dent in the center of the door and you're done...:D

    Nice trucks all....

What's the easiest doner chasis to use with these trucks to make a nice driver. Have a 1.5 ton m-15 with a pickup bed. Original paint, beat up and almost no rust. Its still in a barn :).....

I have 3 m series trucks. All in project phase. I also have a 96 s10 ch***is. The 95 to 01 explorer ch***is looks far more appealing though. I've thought about doing a early 90's Toyota as well.

  24. I have a 47 Studebaker M-17. From the information I can gather, the truck was either a 2 or 2.5 ton vehicle. Apparently the M-17 was an export model only. I've been told through the Studebaker Club this model was never sold in the US. We got them up here in Canada.

Truck currently is setup as a car hauler. Power comes from a 78 Chev 350. The engine, transmission, master cylinder and brake booster were all taken from the same 78 Chev 3/4 or 1 ton truck. Everything else on the truck is original equipment.

Currently the truck needs a bit of work to get it running again. Eventually, I'll get around to putting it back on the road. The gentleman I bought it from also at one time had a matching M-16 truck.

    Here are the pics;

Anybody have any leads on a military swing out windshield frame for an M5?
I've seen over 100 different M5's,but only one hinged w/s frame.
I'd pay good money for one in good shape.
