I agree. With lots of 50-60's cars a little de-chroming, lowering, paint, wheels, and you are set.
    Sample pic...

While the car looks great, I feel like the wheel and tire combo gives it a bit of a hot rod vibe.

    Nice car though...

  8. See the puddle at the front? That's where I was standing and drooling at the GNRS, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
What a great tow car for the Fiat!!!

Mine will look like this some day. I'm leaning towards lancer style hubcaps though.

Here's what I did to a brand new Impala in the fall of 1966. Pearl chartruese/flake top, Buick wires, hidden headlights.

  17. Sweet...I loved the look of the hide-away head lights on the '68 Caprice...they sure look cool on that '67...

    That "T" looks awfully familiar:D

Those mild customs were everywhere back then. And at the time I thought we were the kings of the world. The real truth is many of today's customs I see around the midwest and here on the HAMB have more original mods than we used. Lots of the new builders are doing it better.

Mild customs are the way to go if you're on a budget - like me. Once I get my Merc running, this is the look I'm going for. Anyone got any pics of mild custom Comets?

While we're talking tri-fives don't forget Jeff Meyers work on McPhails '56 Chevy. Not to mention the Fatluckys interior magic.

Tom, Are you sure you did that in 1966 ? Front End looks a bit from the Future? or is it my Old Eyes?
