That looks to me like the fabled "Made in Canada" 23 louver hood to me. It only came on 1932 Ford cars with the Made in Canada aluminum heads and updraft Pogue carberator I wonder if this is the first glimpse of one our American brethren have seen.........

Truck is looking really good , I see it's on a early bronco Ch***ie 1966-67? with a 170ci and how is the 3speed? Three on the tree or did you put her on the floor? I love Early bronco and drive a 1968 daily when not driving the 32:D. I would like to hear more how it was done, been looking to do the same. Thanks

    Hi John
We took a large truck frame "BB" and shortened it.
We mounted all the 66 Bronco suspension and engine, it all worked out better than the usual stuff.
We put a stock 32 column in it, and changed the ****** to a top shift with a Jeep 3spd shifter, bolted right on the Ford top loader, there are a few threads on here about doing that.
We are done all the major stuff, but still need to do little stuff, like lights and running boards etc

That there Hood looks like one of them Canadian Hood they had fer the work truck engines like Tinmann said with the Aluminum heads, although I didn't think they came out until later but maybe the flathead 6 engine hood, I only seen 1 of them before and it was sitting on something, Canada did have some funny things then and were exporting them all around the world, I thought they were for the hot climate countries though.

Were those 23 louver hooded trucks Mercurys, or did that brand arrive later?

I have been working on my Dads 32 today, I got some 1/8 plate bent in a radius for the running boards, I got one all welded up and installed, it turned out pretty good.
I have been looking at the 4X4 hub sticking out the front wheel, and I dont like it at all.
So I came up with this idea.................

I took a bent 32 wheel with bad spokes and cut the centre hub out of it.
I cleaned up the edge on the lathe and set it on the wheel.
I like it, it covers the ugly hub and the wheel nuts, and I can use a stock 32 hubcap.

There were no good wheels destroyed in this procedure........
I only had one bad wheel, so instead of wrecking 4 more 32 wheels, I'm on the hunt for bad 32-35 wheels, I need 4.
Let me know what you guys have, I have a lot of stuff to trade

More work on the truck the last few days.
I made some panels to cover the rear of the leaf springs and the large ugly shackles and I also made up all the rear panels under the tailgate.
My Dad has the new hubcap ***ys and the rear bumper ***ys, he is painting them and should be installed in the next week.

Made up the 3 tailgate hinges today, not too sure what the originals looked like, so I winged it and cut up some square tubing.
    Here are todays pics.
    Almost done!!!!

Well, I have been working on Dads truck every day off.
There are a ton of little things to do, but I got all the important ones done.
We are getting really close to getting our Inspection done, so we have to make sure it is as good as it looks.

Well today around 3:00PM, I was tired of laying under this truck, I have been under there for weeks it seems.
I went through the list of things and there wasn't any safety stuff left, just cosmetic, so...........

    GUESS WHAT ?

I took it out of the shop for the first time in 5 years, the very first time it has moved under its own power, very cool.

I went up and down the driveway a few times and it still seemed ok. No Problems at all, it handles fine and everything seemed to work.

    What a great day !

Not my style but really a killer truck. I could use it in this part of the country this winter. Looks like fun.

Not really my Style either, I'm not a 4x4 guy, But I would have built it any way my Dad wanted, as it is going to be his truck.
It is better than the rusty 66 Bronco he wanted to build, we turned it into a donor.
