Power brakes and a 235

looking at putting some power ***ist on the brakes on the 53 bel air. Where is a good place to hook up the va***e line for the booster on a 235 chevy with a stock intake. Anyone done this? Thanks guys

 

nobody came up with a better idea than knocking a hole in the intake?

 

There should be a spot on the intake below the carb.

 

yeah, the intake manifold should have a big threaded (1/2") plug on one side.

 

the one that is on the car has a little port under the carb. like 1/4 inch pipe. Wouls that be enough to run a booster from. All the late model garbage I work on everyday has something like 3/8. Ill try it. thanks.

 

That's the last resort. Even though it's not a leak (it's a closed circuit to the diaphragm) the car may stall when you exhaust the canister with a few stops since the vacuum drops until the can refills.
I'd put it farther away.
