I posted this question on FordBarn. I apologize for the duplication but it looks like I need to see pictures to get it right. FordBarn is great for knowledge but tougher for pictures. So, this is my first old Ford and I need a little help. I took my Tudor flatback apart over 2 years ago. I've gotten it back together up to the front fenders and can't remember how the inner fender and outer fender go together.

Does the outer fender overlap the inner where the hood sides go or is it the other way around? Is there welting that goes between them? I don't remember seeing any when I took it apart but I can't say it was all original. I would love to see pictures of how the front fenders mount, especially the area where the hood sides sit. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

The outer fender overlaps the inner and you have to use tapered head screws so the hood sides don't rub against the screw heads. Welting between hood sides and fender will keep everything tight and quite.

I've got a slant back and had it apart many times but I don't have any pictures of this. sorry

Mount the inner fender panels to the frame first, this makes it easier to mount the fenders. The fenders go over the inner panels. Use truss head bolts to mount the fenders to the inner panels. Tall John

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone make the welting that goes between the pieces? I'm thinking it would be different from the kind with the piping that is used on the rear fenders or am I mistaken? I suppose I could get some of that and use it anyway. Thanks again for the help.

Don't forget the rod that fits behind the grill (horizontal) it supports the two fenders and the grill. (very important)
