I know many of you are warbird fans so Ill throw this out there in the hope it doesnt offend anyone. On June 06 & 07 theres an air show in Niagara Falls Ontario that will appeal to any traditional rodder, called Friendly Foes Above the Falls, put on by the Russell Aviation Group. This is the largest propeller-only show in Canada, and its well worth attending. The Russell Group will be flying some of their own planes a Spitfire, Hurricane, Messerschmitt 109, Harvard (aka Texan south of the border), but the show also brings in the Memphis Belle B-17 (the one from the movie), and planes from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum including their great Lancaster bomber (one of only two airworthy Lancs in the world), plus more warbirds from WWII and reproductions from WWI. This year they will also have an airworthy replica of the Silver Dart, the first aircraft to fly in Canada in 1909. They also have a large military ground show of modern equipment as well as vintage equipment and displays. Heres their website, and some photos to get you thinking. See you there. ( I just volunteer at the show so this isnt a paid infomercial!) http://www.therussellgroupairshow.com/
I'd recommend that anyone remotely interested attend this show. The Russell Group aircraft are top quality stuff. Make it if you can!
I absolutely hate airplanes. I spend a lot of time here, http://warbirdaeropress.com/ Thanks for the heads up! Lippy
We have an air show in our neck of the woods this weekend. The Thunderbirds & the Golden Knights are the headliners, but they're supposed to have a handful of piston engined aircraft also. Might check it out Sunday. http://bransonairshow.com/
Cool, that gives me a good excuse to visit Niagra Falls!! (slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch.....sorry, I'm showing my age!)
Does anybody know if there is a parking area for Hot Rods, at the chino air show this weekend?? just wondering..
One of my favorite war birds. The 109 F's are so ****ngruven. All those warbirds are great. I agree with you "lost for a while" Winged hot rods. Very good. For a while the combined a car show with the Air Expo at Flying Cloud airport here in the Twin Cities. A natural and a lot of fun.
