At the Old Marais River run held this last weekend in Ottawa, Ks, I had some lines put on the old Plymouth I recently acquired from HotRodHon. Rhere were a couple of scratches on one of the fenders, so Tommy The Greek style lines were stratigicaly placed to rid the car of the scratches. Lil toot of Tulsa done the stripes. I like them, what you all think? JIM
I was there with the baby & dog for probably 45 min...realators kicked me out of my house for the afternoon so I drove 40min to check it out. Blakmerk was supposed to be there but I couldn't find him. Ran into the winner of this year's Continental Cup from the HAMB drags. (Steve maybe? Sorry, I suck with names - many thanks for the water though.) Didn't see anyone else I knew. When did you get that Plymouth? Lines look good.
Blackmerk was there cruisin, never got to speak to him. The HAMBer with the 40 hoodless sedan was there, too. can not remember his name. believe it was 8th grade genius. It would have been good to see you again. I spent most of Sat afternoon under the stripers tent. I have had the Plymouth since Friday the 10th. It was HotRod Hon's, the one he had listed in the classifieds. He wound up with the 32 out of the deal. He and his wife, Darla, are good people. thanks, Jim
Kool!! Kool!! Kool!! If I owned that car you would have a tough time trying to get me out of it. The interior is just timeless. Did anyone buy the 41 Chevy P/U? If not did you get his number? Happy Trails, Mick
A friend of my bro in law, the guy with the blue 62 Ford vert has his number. Richard is thinking seriously about that truck. I want it so bad, I would trade the 62 for it, if I still had the 62.(He wants a 61 or 62 bubbletop) That truck is perfect except the plywood bed floor. I really think the guy has it priced about 8 or 9 grand low. It had not sold as of Sunday 4"00 pm.
TOOT SUCKS!!!!! Very strategic line laying if I do say so myself. I wish I could have made both shows, but it looks like you guys got by without me. Reverend Jake
It would have been kool if you could have made it. This was a well organized, extremely well run event, There was a lot of work going on all through the event to get it to work. The give aways on Sat were timed to keep all on the grounds until the downtown could be cleared of civilian cars so the cruise would come off with out a hitch. More folks than you could shake a stick at turned out for the cruise, food vendors every where. I will go back. The door prizes included two engines and transmissions, one each given away on Sat and one each Sunday. two sets of tires, one 110 mig welder, one plazma cutter, and a host of die casts as well as three wiring sets from different manufactures. Two hours to give away all the prizes including a 50-50 pot both days with more than 500 bucke each day to the winner. 1149 cars on the grounds. Lots of vendors, both food and hard goods, including car related and crafts. Lot of shade trees, downside, some are walnut trees. There was a trrailer provided by a local bank that had three water coolers on each side for all to qwench their thirst. I even had the pleasure of visiting with the HAMbs own Straykat Kustom.
Wow, it really must have been something. I would like to go sometime, but I don't want to pay $100 a nite for lodging. Toot told me that all the hotels hike the price of the rooms for that weekend. Did you find that? Reverend Jake
By the time we registered, my sister in law found rooms in Garnett for a total of 102 for Friday and Sat night We stayed in Ottaway late to see what happened at the Host hotel, but found nothing going on. Not like the happenings at the HAMB drags or the Straykat 500 in Dewey, OK.
That stuff is cool, makes a beautiful car even more so. Hopefully I'll be able to compliment nice rides someday with my striping.
Well, I've been to Ottawa show once and did enjoy it, although the evenings festivities consisted of laying under Toot's truck trying to do a quick and dirty on the PowerBlow tranny. No dice. That TOOT can lay down some lines, and look damn sexxxy doing it! Better make sure the Ottawa group has a different date than P&P next year. CUZ P&P is as sure a date as Dewey!
