Jeez, looked like some precious feelings were hurt up there! Deal with it, already, doc54, damn! I've spent a lot more time in that part of the world than you can shake a stick at, with NO computer access or any of the other stuff you guys have. Just get home safe and work on your ride.

Trailorpark never brought up the fact he was in the sandbox, someone else did that for him, so he wasn't using that as a crutch. As far as his feelings getting hurt, I doubt it, he's got other things on his mind...coming here is probably a relief after a day in the office there.

...and hey, Trailorpark, the ribbing and b.s. is just in fun for the most part:D As far as the ***es, well, the worlds full of ***holes and you're gonna meet them everyday:)

Keep your head up, eyes open, and get your *** home in one piece! The world needs more Hambers. Good luck bubba

Plug time. We started selling the blankets at swap meets around DFW. Seam to be a popular item. We get 15 each or 2 for 25. If any one has a color preference, send me a PM and I'll take a few pics of what we got.

Digging up old threads and asking new questions within those threads (or simply reading them) is a lot easier than starting new threads for questions answered 100 times before...as for the sandbox crutch, it was docs54 that was complaining that his internet isn't fast enough while he's overseas, and while I commend everyone for their service, it's not an excuse to be thrown in our faces to try to make the rest of us feel sorry for you...newbs gotta be taught the ropes, no matter where you're reading the forum from...I'm still a newb to most of these guys, and we all take **** from time to time...

  7. TP well said..... Any Swinging D..k can go to ebay, but what people are really asking for is if they know anyone who is selling good quality blankets that is honest and reliable.

Some of you old timers need to find another forum for the old and cranky.......

This is killing me. Trailor park. You gotta remember that these guys on here do hear the same questions about the same things all the time. They are also car guys that sit behind the computer for hours on end wishing they were working on their own cars. and Car guys dont always have the nicest sense of humor. So You just gotta deal with it.

Typically if you ask a question, out of 30 replies you might get 1 that is halfway helpfull. But in the end you laugh your *** off.

I see a big difference between the beatings administered by new guys here and old guys that have been around for awhile: The old guys tend to have a point, the new ones just sound like posers.

I came here to learn and have a laugh or two, not hang out with a bunch of biker baby wannabes. That tough guy **** they (newbies) see on TV and try to emulate is FAKE.

I'm a newbie too, I try not to be an *** for the most part, I hope that I'm bringing something to the party, 'cause I really enjoy this place...:D

Wal-mart.... You can buy anything at Wal-mart.... They import them from China, because no one knows Mexican blankets like 8 year old chinese sweat shop workers.

BTW I got mine on EGAY and they were nice and thick !
Just remember you can buy ever thing on that site , so why ask us here !

Now for all this **** , when I joined the HAMB I didn't do any posts or threads for almost 8-9 months ! Why you ask , BECAUSE I WANTED TO SEE HOW THINGS ARE DONE HERE !
Instead of not following the rules that you should do a search first , you just go and put up the same old **** day in and day out ! If you FNG's would introduce yourselves and read all the rules that Ryan has posted for you , better than 1/2 of the stupid **** from you FNG's would never reach this point . Many of you just want to do it your way instead of the right way !
As for the guys in the sandbox, hey I Thank you for sticking your neck out for a bunch of worthless ***holes that will never take care of THEIR country ! We should never be there and I pray you come home soon in one piece . I really don't want to see this as being another VN battle ! Now that was a Hell hole !
Look if you can't take a little fun and BS then go to the other site where ***holes do their own thing with no rules and throw **** back in forth all day long . This is not the site for you if that is what you like !

If you love traditional hot rods and kustoms then we are all here for the asking , BUT do the search first . You will find many NEW and old ideas and answers there . It save us all the drama !
One other thing , why are we getting all the FNG's here all the sudden for the last 6-7 months ?

Just my 2 cents worth of thought !

Lot's of folks here need the drama.

I have wondered myself where all the FNG's have came from all the sudden. They seem to think post count means a lot.

Hey Retro Jim, I'm a FNG because my Father is a true Hot Rodder and said the only real site to check in on is here.
I finally purchased a project truck ('54 Ford) and have found great ideas and help here. Pop's was right.
As far as the "search first" thing, I searched on here for "before and after" pics and found nothing, so I started a thread and everyone let me know that it was done a few times already. If your search isn't "exactly" what the thread is ***led, it shows no results. I asked to have mine thread removed. So maybe that's one reason there are so many reposts?
About this thread......I for one would rather spend my money at "shop" that HAMBERS support, that's why I peeked in here on this thread 'cause I am looking for a seat cover, I don't trust the E-Gay stuff, I would trust the word from guys on here first.

And I did introduce myself first, like Ryan said.

ok time for my last 2 cents on the subject. I did find a good site for the blankets thanks to DOC54, and I appreciate all the other sites that were posted and or plugged. Next I would like to say thanks for the support. I also appreciate the new ideas that I would have never considered before. I am sorry about getting on my soapbox earlier it has been a ****ty day, and I got a little wound up. I know everyone like to give someone a hard time once in a while, I know I sure do. I don't like to have all the **** talking going back and forth, mostly on a thread I started, and participated in as well. The last thing I would like to say is cut some slack to newer members, if they ask an off the wall question or a repeated question either let them know where to resaerch it or just don't post anything at all, no sense in all the stupidity. Thanks again. Oh and by the way www.elchamaco.com has alot of blankets to choose from. Oh and also http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=334993 my intro

Wow, that's a lot of BS just to tell a guy where to find a blanket.
Guess I'm lucky. I've got relatives in south Texas. I just give them a shout whenever I need a blanket or 5 and they are in the mail and on the way to me right away.

Gotta watch what part of mex you get them from. Most of mine that I get are nice and heavy duty and worthwhile. A couple friends got some on spring break and they were so lightweight and loose woven they weren't really worth ****

Kenny P , thanks ! As for deleting a post you are the only one besides Ryan that will do that .
If you try looking at , look what I bought , dragged home or My project maybe you can find something there , I can't remember running across a before & After thread yet but doesn't mean there isn't one . I myself always like to see someones else's project especially when they show the pics of the process . I have found many of my questions answered just by looking at someone else's projects .
Would like to see what you dragged home !

I suspect the increase in FNGs has something to do with all the love the HAMB has been getting in print. Just read the article on Dreadman's car and see how many references to the HAMB are there. Now how many posers run out and sign up? This ain't MySpace!

Just make sure your horse blanket is pre-64 so it is H.A.M.B friendly.

I ain't a FNG, but lurk a lot. Like to see if this old fart's advice is needed or not. Trailerpark, good luck to ya and get home safe. I got my blanket while on the Yucatan Penn. a number of years ago. Made it into a front seat.

  27. Noobs getting beat up is a rite of p***age. It happens.

Mexican blankets....while they may have valid applications in our sub-culture, one of them is not a 1958 Oldsmobile. The preceeding is presented as an opinion....not as a fact.

Thanks for serving and come home safe and sound.
