Most of you guys and gals will remember my 32 roadster that I had before I was a member of the Hamb,,,but it was time to let it go,,I developed the dreaded COUPE FEVER,,,

I have known about this coupe since 1982 and I know the guy that built it and sold it just 2 short years later to a guy that NEVER drove the car and it sat in his carport behind closed doors for the last 25 years.

I heard that it was for sale from one of my wife's employees and he got me the guys name and number,,,he was a high school art teacher that bought supplys from me when I had my business.

I called him several months ago and was trying to sell my roadster,,,he wanted a ton for the car and I knew I would have trouble scratching up the kind of money he wanted,,,insert the Barrett-Jackson mentality here!

After my roadster sold I gave him a call and made a offer,,,NO Way,,so,I just decided to look elsewhere and finally said,,I don't have to have another hot rod,,I can't drive but one at a time,,,but you Deuce guys know it's a sickness!

So last week I get a call from him and he says that the economy is causing him some problems and if I was still interested he was willing to talk,,so I said yeah and told him I needed to check it over and get it up on jackstands,,,he said fine i'll bring it to you and you keep it a few days.

Well to make a long story shorter,,I found a few things that I didn't expect and a few I did,,,the body is extreamly solid,,some of the suspension is poorly done and the wide fenders in the back ****,,,but they can be fixed and narrower rims will correct that problem with original rear fenders.

Well,,we came to an agreement today and I bought the car for what I wanted to pay for it,,amazing how cash will light up a sellers eyes!

He told me he would crank it up and drive to the quick stop about 2 or 3 times a month.

So,,,here are the photos,,the first ones were taken a few months ago when I first looked at the car,,before I sold the roadster,,,It has been extreamly hard to keep my mouth shut and not let the cat out of the bag,,,I did talk to Deuce Roadster a bunch and I'm sure he got tierd of hearing the ups and downs.:D HRP

Thats a slick looking car for sure but honestly I would've kept the roadster. As long as you're happy thats all that counts. And I hope you drive it more than the art teacher. :)

Now I see why you wanted to sell your roadster, looks good. Looking forward to see what you do with it. Sorry I missed you guys at knoxville, really getting tired of getting rained on.

I have a list of things that need to be done,,but I'm gonna go slow and think everything through like I did my truck,,,the interior is really dated and needs to be brought up to traditional standards,,,:D HRP

Absolutely a great tradeoff. Any time you can give up a gl*** '32 for a steel one is a good day. Your am***ing a superb collection of '32's, congrats.

I don't type fast enough. Sorry I asked:( Seriously, nothing there that can't be fixed. May I suggest a menu of bowtie with a 5 spd for dessert?

Frank,,302 Ford,C4 ****** and mustang rear.,,a SBC is probably in the distant future,,as for the ******,,with my bad leg it will stay automatic.

Odd ball too wide dropped tube axle,It ain't a superbell, which will be changed shortly with a 4" beam axle.,,,hair pins and mustang steering box.

The body is about the nicest one I have ever seen,,with the exception of the filled coul vent and I removed the interior panel under the dash to discover that the guy that built the car didn't weld it shut,,he used sheet metal screws and bondo,,,a relitively easy fix when I am ready to tackle that part,,along with the tail lights which I'm not too crazy about,,,but for now it will have to do. Glad you were able to put the deal together. If it were mine I'd correct the rear fender look, ditch the seal beams behind the original headlight lense. Then track down the guy that installed the cowl lights and beat him with them. Enjoy your new ride.

I have never seen headlights done like that before,,and I hope to never see it again,,I am ordering the Bob Drake conversion kit in the morning,,I already have a dropped headlight bar,,the fenders will be history soon and the cowl lights will be gone also,,I would rather see a rubber plug than those ugly things,,,and did you notice,,,they are mounted in the lower portion of the cowl and not at the top? Swap the front axle, and drive it. I can't follow the "taking out a Ford motor just to shove a Chevy in it" thinking. There's way more than enough cars with that combo.

Believe me,,that is not in the near future,,,and I may get use to it,,I dunno!
but one thing is for sure if and when the engine comes out it will find a new home in my 65 Ford pickup which is patiently waiting it's turn for repairs! HRP
