Jim- You hit the nail directly on the head! pre-1972 already excludes people. Making tech harder to pass for a 1/4mi would further exclude people. We wanted to see everybody get on the track.....even those who normally wouldn't be able to pass tech in most situations. Again, we thank everybody for coming out, and hope everybody spreads the word for Hell on Wheels this coming September 19 and the Thaw Out for next year. PS- I saw lots of cameras..... how about some pictures?
I think you are right. The Delta 88 was in at least another inch in its original config. I could tell by the wear lines after I put it on. All will be well if I dont try to tear it up. For the street it has been fine for about 8 or 9 years but under racing load as you can see it does not work.
This would be a perfect place for a eastern Hamb drags. 1/8 track for our old cars. Nice small track with the availablity of camping. Close enough to draw the people from the east and south. Was planning to go but due to the weather forcast ended up working in the garage all day Saturday. I plan to make this show in the upcoming springs in the future. Keep the shows coming this will become big in the future.
Pat..thanks again to you and the rest of the devils! Had a great time as always. Cant wait for Hell on Wheels.
A lot of shit woke me up....Ricky revin' the hussy....the 18 thousand dollar tiki wagon conversation....flame throwers...Ricky again... By the time I could make it back out, the only thing left was snoring and farting...and that woke me up too...
Hopefully the weather will be more friendly next year, great concept and I hope it takes off. Thanks to the Road Devils and Pacemakers for a great time! More pictures anyone?
I woke up to the Hussy starting at 6:30 Sunday morning, on a wet tent floor with a hangover. Talk about a WTF moment.
Sorry bout that .I thought it was later . Had a damn good time at the show ,especially gettin to know all of the columbus guys better and hanging out with all of the great people that showed up.
Artie any time man, You man are always welcome. You ever get up in my area give me a ring or stop by. To everyone else who drug out to the show and had a blast. Thanks! I think that with a little support that we can really make these shows blow out events Patrick
Looks like a good time nice weather nice rdes and drag racing.Killer combination hope the show continues to grow keep it up!!
ive been to every event the columbus devils have put on so far. and by far the pacemakers local is my favorite.in time this could be THE event of spring for miles around just being at this track makes you feel like you hit a time warp and its 1969 again. all that was missing was jungle pam and her big .......personality....hahahah Pat,Jon,thumper and the rest of the devels thanks for a cool event hopefully you can plan to come to the POOR MANS NATIONALS in plain city ohio in august
Shit, no problem. I got to lay back down, you had the balls to drive the thing home. Besides, there's worse things to wake up to for sure.
Awsome show guys. And would some one thank Benny for convincing Dave to not back his Rambler up against the port a pottys and trap Kim and I. Oh and for not Duct taping us in there also!! This was one of my favorite shows. I cant wait until next year... Im taking my car down the drag strip!!
Glad so many liked it. The only thing that could make our events better is more people....so we would love some extra support for our next show. Your bumping, comments, compliments, and word of mouth is what gets more people to our events. We can start now and make sure that everybody hears about Hell On Wheels in September. Check the link: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=340146 Our shows are not about bands, not about rockabilly, not about scenesters.... they are about vintage cars and trucks and running the piss out of them......period! We want to attract the die-hard car guys and gals and give them the opportunity to see what their machines will do. Please help us with spreading our gospel and hopefully these shows will continue to snowball into premier events in the midwest. Thanks again for the support.
man i wish my bird wasnt down......still a great weekend!!!!!! thanks again benny for lettin me take big blue down the track!!!! most fun i've had in a long time.
