Thanks everyone for bumping this up. Another Coker tire came apart on us, we had a spare and it is now on. This is the second rear Coker radial that went, sure does make it feel as if it is one of the front tires. When we 1st stopped to look at the tires and feel them they appeared to be OK which is why we suspected a wheel bearing, in our minds the left front wheel bearing felt a bit warm. As luck would have it we found a great tire shop in Johnson City, TN - all the guy had to do was feel the right rear tire to discover it was starting to separate. Made it to Lexington, VA just a bit ago and are on our way to the Jalopy Showdown combined with a visit to our mothers in Gettysburg and Hanover. Thank you Danny for posting and for everyone concerned about us.
Vicky, I remember you telling me about the last one that did this. I think I would be contacting Corky himself and getting some answers. This kinda puts in the 'I don't think I can make this trip cause another tire my fail' category. And that ain't kosher. They shouldn't stop an enjoyable trip. Especially more than once. Hope you have a safe trip back home.
Glad you forund the problem and back on the road again. I have been reading several threads lately about Cokers comming apart. Any one else have any thing on them?
