Ok, when is ok to trailer your hot rod? the wife and I along with some friends are going to the "Hot Rod Reunion" in Bowling Green again this year. I want to drive my T-Bucket it's about 250 to 275 miles drive for us, the wife does not want to ride in it that far, as all but about 5 miles will be all I-65 she does not like to get on the Interstate in the bucket, plus she has a little back pain every now and then. She said it would be ok to do it because of her back, I told her she could ride with friends. So is it ok to trailer it, or not. Also it has a top but I don't like the top on it.

it is ok to trailer your hot rod any time you wish. if you need to check with the guys on here for permission, you are making a mistake. do as you wish and if somebody has a problem, screw them. you need not make excuses, nor ask permission.

  4. be a man like the rest of us and ask your wife!:D

take the top off and trailer the snot out of it , park a few miles out and cruise on in , we wont ask if you dont tell!

i say thats a good reason. its good your wife wants to go and enjoy this with you. a little compromise goes a long way. i trailer my car when i take it to test in tune, just in case something brakes i have a ride home.

People make fun of me when I don't ride my hardtail Harley 2000 miles to Sturgis. Screw them, my 60 year old back cannot do it. Do what you wish and enjoy.

I trailer mine if it's over 75 miles, or if it's more than 2 going to the show, my back is bad. Screw the others, I'd rather trailer it and have fun at the show than drive it and be miserable at the show.

It's OK to trailer a hotrod to a race track if it is a purpose built race car, especially if it isn't a licensed street rod.
It's not OK to trailer a street rod that is a licensed hotrod to a "cruise".
A street rod is any licensed and street driven hotrod.
It's OK to trailer any of them back home when they break...

I've never but one of my cars on a trailer and I never will unless it's broke down and I can't get it fixed on the spot.

I use to say that the only time it should be trailered is when it's broke.
As mine was from time to time.

But, it's your call. If you don't want to leave the little woman at home, than compromise. Drag the car the long distance and then use the T for the short stuff. I wouldn't want to drive a T 50 miles let alone 275. They just ain't that comfortable and in the rain they can be downright frightfull.

There will come a day (not too many years from now) that I will probably drag the car to all of the events over 100 miles. The physical part of driving will let me know when it's time to do so.:(

I trailer when I need to. My car gets 8 mpg if I am lucky and I have a 11 gallon tank. Bags are for groceries. And trailers are for trailer queens and I could give a rats ass about what anyone thinks so I run bags and I trailer.

Yes, I am married. I love my wife. She is the coolest chick you would ever meet. She loves everything about my life, I love everything about her, but if she dont want to go on a trip, then she can stay her ass at home. Ive never seen a T-bucket on a trailer either, never. What makes me so bad ????

When it's broken. Part of the joy is the excitement of the "what may happen". Besides, maybe she'll find a new found joy in it as well. Yeah, maybe do what you can to help her find the comfort she may need. I had the agreement with mine, when racking up the miles on my Harley, it was a back/butt massage after every 3hrs of riding. It was a win-win!

  30. Hope this helps.......:D......But then again I don't own a T bucket!
