I needed some metal today, so off I went about 10 miles from my house there's a outdoor fab shop that usually has s**** lying around. On the way there I spotted a 4 door Pontiac sitting under a big 'ol tree with a for sale sign. I make a mental note and say to myself I need to come back this way and check it out. On the way back I stop. This car is a cream puff seriously!! I called the number and the owner comes out to meet me. He was a neat old guy 75 years young. he's the 2nd owner and needed to sell it. He said he has owned it for 8 years and drug it out of some barn up in South Dakota where it sat for 18 years. He said it belonged to a farmer in SD. It has 86K miles on it and it drives like a dream. I am going to tune it up and drive it for a while...keep your eyes on the cl***ifieds it may end up there if I ever get over the wonderful feeling of driving a big ol cl***ic...man I am in heaven!!!
Nothing missing or damaged that can't be fairly easily found. A beauty in styling and when finish painted a really nice car. Enjoy it forever.
Buy a timing chain & cam gear ... change 'em before you take any road trips. The '60 is one of the best Pontiacs ever built ....
I love Ponchos, but I'm predjudiced. Went for a trip from the Midwest to Colorado in a '60, great cruiser.(when new) Never forget as we got higher up Pikes Peak the al***ude got to the Poncho and it would sputter out. Nothing like coasting down the mountain right on the edge of the road with no engine. Enjoy it and drive it!!
The great thing about those "Grandma" 4-DR cars is they usually received exceptional care, and your car appears to be in that category. The car has nice lines and will make a great, comfortable, Kustom cruiser that isn't short on power. Nice find...looks like a keeper!
Score City!! One of my high school buddies recieved a 60 hardtop for high school grad. present. I drove it for him at local drags and it was a blast, 389-3 deuces-4 speed-390 posi-slammin and jammin fun!~Sololobo~
