I've got a rusted old 57 Chevy 4-door. My doors are shot. I can find NEW fibergl*** doors for the 2-door. This is a fun g***er project.

***uming I move the pillar will the roof line match?
I can hack and cut the rest. Don't have a 2-door and 4-door post car to compare. Just need to know if the height is right and will follow the roof line correctly. I can adapt the rest.

Gonna try and make a 2-door (for fun) out of the 4-door.

    Any advice
(other than find the original doors, and don't hack the car), greatly appreciated. ;)

The 2 dr sedan roof is exactly the same as the 4drsedan roof.
Same roof skin, same front and rear windows

Do a search for 2-door to 4-door conversion. I did a tech article awhile back, so did So-Cal Tex. You will find everything you need to know in those two posts. And fyi, a 4-door striker panel is different from a 2-door. You can swap the panels out easily tho.

and yes, you can extend a 4-door into a 2-door. I did it with two sets of 4-doors, but its just doesnt work out. All the window cranks, runners, door handle mounts and what not get totally screwed up. For a g***er it may be acceptable but you wont be fooling anyone. Id suggest swapping out striker panels on a true 2-door door.

Search on thehamb... there are some conversions of this nature taking place. Also check out youtube...55-57 4-2 door conversions. New metal doors are being produced, but I would imagine you can find good used! Good luck
