Thanks for the Good words guys. When i was a young buck building model cars Edsel was my first. I've had a weird attraction for them ever since.

Say what you want about OSR but when I contacted Alan about getting the car, he sent me out OSR issue #'s 2 & 6, which have been out of production for a long time. Plus he sent along paper work for the painless wiring and Vintage air theat was in the car, along with a disc of pictures.

    Atlanta

Well, I've already decided to throw a pair of skirts on it, a set of lakepipes, and either change the hub caps or put on a set of chrome smoothies.

Thanks Mike but I'm thinking of just putting in some Caddy taillights for right now.

    Very nice! I approve!

I was thinking of the same paint for the 58 wagon I just bought.
(That is, if someone doesn't buy it out of the HAMB classifieds first)

If you go with the Caddy taillights be sure to post some pictures- I understand 56 Chevy lights also can fit.

A word of warning: Taking in an Edsel is like feeding stray cats, before you know it, one turns to 2, which turns to 3 and they keep finding you.

A beautiful car and a big head start..Not too many 2DHTs around..what engine does it have? and Yes be careful that car is putting out Edsel seeds as we speak..Mine sprouted a four-door parts car last year..Mine is the opposite color scheme, stock and gnarly..I blew out the tranny cruising up the S.Congress hill one-more-time at the Roundup. It will get the tranny fixed and the 390 3X2 set-up installed and front disc brakes iffin I can afford it..Sally wants to paint it black and turquoise..its kinda growin on me...

I never understood how anyone could NOT like an Edsel. I've had a soft spot for them ever since I first saw one. I think my favorite so far was a '58 2-door wagon I saw out in the desert on I-15...turquoise and just beautiful. Very nice '59! It's giving me ideas now...

Hey that's one Nice 'Lemon', Gotta love the fresh paint.. -Edsel's have to be one of the neatest cars ever made.

I wish I had grabbed my neighbors low mile 59 when he got the urge to unload it (cheap).

It had gobs of torque and with the Luxuriously Soft suspension, I swear it felt like the front wheels wanted to lift.

Not bad for one of the top 10 'lemons' of all time. shows how much auto history buffs know.

Take it from Sheila, cuz She knows ....

Bruce, saw you drive by this morning in Orangevale @ Fair Oaks & Oak Ave....my .02, don't add the lakes pipes or skirts. The car has a nice stance and looks really clean without the added "clutter" of those items. (the chromies would look good though.) Nice car, the top color shows really well.

Glad it looked good going down the road, but I still have to change it up a little just to make it my own. I am debating between the lake pipes and bellflowers. Anybody want to do a little photoshop?

Looks similar to the one Jamio from "Los Sagrados" here in Sac just got rid of when he moved. Very nice car though, good luck with it.

It's a pretty nice car, better than most, but theres still room for some "fixen up". And before I get kicked in the balls over that comment, YES I have worked on this car and I've been under it on a lift. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to have the beast. But like I said theres room for you to make it your own!

At least I got somebody on my side. I never was one to get a car and leave it alone.

  29. I've handed those issues of OSR to my brother too. There's about 4 or so issues the car's in (for those interested). My brother picked up a '59 Ranger post a few months back over here. REAL nice condition, but some turkey painted it peach to look like some damn doowop 50s thing. The original bronze underneath would look a hell of a lot better.....so I'm working on him to redo it!
