Warming up the stovebolt

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hb32, May 15, 2009.

  1. I have been doing lots of reading on performance parts for the 235 in my 55 2nd series Chevy pickup and seems the more I look at, the more it gets confusing . 3 singles, 2 singles, split manifolds, headers, change the cam, 848 head, old parts, new manufactured old parts, blah,blah,blah...so, I thought I would ask the experts for advise. Quick thoughts?? Not looking for some speed demon, just a good running grocery getter that is less sluggish.
    Thanks hb32

Here are the mods I plan on doing based on feedback that I have had from others. My plan is to do 1 & 2 at the same time. 1. Fenton Headers, 2. 2x1 manifold, 3. Electronic ignition (I am partial to GMC Bubba's stock conversion http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=314763), then if you want to you could move to a hotter cam.
