Maybe if your front code is SC and the date is Feb 2, it should be vette w/4barrel ,1962 327 motor, and if the rear casting is hard to read it might end with 870 which I think is 62-6? 327 also. Just my thoughts on your great find! Congrats

 

got it running late last night... bad points.... swapped out the new ones and it jumped right to life... even with that old carb...

Now to figure out how to clean out the gas tank???

 

Great find and all there priceless! If it is a 1957 (283) motor it will not have side motor mounts holes on the block.

 

Mnn... I does have the side motor mount bosses.... Now I am confused again :0

 

Ok, so I am starting to piece together that I got lucky...

Running 327 and I check out the heads and it looks like they are the 462's which makes them the 202's... The rocker arms were a little chatty so I dialed them down a little and found a good excuse to put on some new gaskets and valve covers...

The radiator has a leak, so I am bummed about that $300-$500 and I am confused about aluminum vs brass...

 

Fuck the numbers on the motor, start hunting for an original set of Skylark wires and get that Hollingsworth clone happening!!
