Went and checked out a guy's car today, young kid, said it was a 32 Ford Victoria. I was like "Sure" because how many cars have we heard about like that. He thought it had the wrong grille on it anyways. So I stopped by today, about 20 miles from me. We go out to the old horse barn which has been haphazardly converted to a shop. Pull off the cover and yes indeed it was a Deuce Vicky. All steel car that had been owned by his grandfather who died a few years ago. Street rodded a long time ago, has a small block chevy, Turbo 350 and what appears to be an AMC rear axle (Gremlin ? LOL). Has Lincoln Versailles 14" aluminum wheels (think no whole halibrand wheels with a centercap). Most recent additions were a Mustang II front suspension and coilovers in the rear. Car is in pretty good shape, needs minor bodywork to fender and some paint touch up. Just a decent old cruiser. He's not really interested in selling the car, it's been in the family for around 50 years. I brang my camera but forgot to take pictures dang it! We poked around the place, he's trying to clean it up so he can move in there. The I-beam front axle, spring, split wishbones, spindles, disc brake conversion was still there along with the old flathead (21 stud with a single stock Stomberg 97 it looks like), transmission, steering box, column and steering wheel were there. Also saw some juice front brakes and spindles. Original rear axle is apparently long gone. He eventually wants to get rid of the flathead and other parts, I will try to let the HAMBer's know when the stuff is available.

OK remembered to take pictures this time. The car is still not for sale so don't ask. Hopefully I can get the flathead and front axle over to my place in the next few months. I don't know if the flathead turns over or not.

Glad the kid wants to keep the car in the family. It can always be turned back into a traditional style car. Has he joined the HAMB?

I will try to get him on here but he is into newer cars, his 2003 twin turbo Mustang should hit around 1000 HP at full boost.

Welcome to the HAMB! Do you plan to keep the car as your Grandfather built it? Good luck with it.

no i dont plan on ever selling it.

well i really like building cars so im sure i will make some changes, my grandfather never was real happy with the way the color turned out and i do paint and body for a living, so im sure i will repaint it at least.
and i would also like to get some sort of "up to date" aftermarket frame for it, (keep the original ofcorse) because over the years it has seen it's fair share of hacking and changing.
but other than that it dosnt need that much it has a good engine and the interior is already done. the body is very straight, it had two bullet holes in the back, those are the only body repairs that have been done to it. just the paint is peeling in a few spots.

it has been in a shop for as long as i can remember, hell my mom has a picture of her standing beside it in diapers and she's 53, and my grandfather had it years before she was born.

When is this "Garage Find" "Barn Find" Phenomenon going to end? This is a car that someone owns and still drives! The building looks pretty active.

Guess I need to go over to my dad's house tomorrow after he leaves and lift the covers and shoot some pics of those "Abandoned Structure Finds"! Does that count if he's gone for more than 30 minutes?

true, but "still drives" is a loose term as it hasnt been out of the shop in prolly five years lol. but yea it's not like its been sitting undiscovered for fifty years.

I like looking at BARN FINDS

Even if they are not LOST...

If its old ,its cool with me ,

everyone needs to KEEP posting all the barn finds they can,

it give us all hope that someday we'll find our own little gold mine...

Keep the car forever and p*** it on to your children ,

just think your grandpa was the last one to touch those ugly lights and installed them on that car!

    Thats cool..............
