That is beautiful car from a great shop that treats folks right and turns out fantastic work.

Although I do almost all of my own work add me to the list of those who think it is pretty lame for someone to knock a guy who has a car built by a quality shop.

Ponder on a few things before you pop off and fuss at the next guy who shows his H.A.M.B member built car that he didn't happen to do the work on himself.
Some of us who finally can afford the car we always wanted don't have the time to build it or possibly our skills may not be up to the task of getting it the way we want it.
*Pacemaker* It doesn't mean that much to you younger guys but for many it means that we can never pick up a stick, mig or tig welder again.
Health or physical condition. As for me it's the results of a smashed index finger and thumb on my left hand and I've been dealing with arthritis in my fingers for the past couple of years. It doesn't stop me yet but it sure slows things down.

Plus one more thing and I'll get off the soapbox. We have several members who either own or work in some of the best shops in the country and world when it comes to building hotrods and customs and such comments are a bit of a slam to each and every one of them.

Nice words Mr48chev , we as a HAMB community are blessed with some of the most talented craftsmen , business owners, artists etc, all with a common goal & interest in Traditional Hot Rods & Kustoms , in such a huge group there are always going to be some that don't agree or SEE the big picture. I count myself lucky to be included in such high regard by a group of such calibre .

Just a quick note we are having an open house on the Thursday before the LA Roadsters Father's Day Show . It is also our 15th year in business . I will be doing an anouncement before the date, if your in LA come on by. It isn't on the scale of So Cal Speedshop but we do what we do.

    Cheers

Georgeous car and really good to hear about a shop where they care and do good work. There are a lot of good shops out there, but of course the only ones you hear about are the hucksters. It's all good!!

Ditto, always positive things. If the choice was mine(not the bank, or my ol' lady)limeworks would be building my rod. You get ten times the quality work in less than half the time(sign me up). Hell if i had enough jack, id have em build two. You all know welding, and grinding sucks:D. YOUR C-DAN LOOKS GREAT(LIKE EVERYTHING I'VE SEEN COME FROM THERE). THE WHEELS,AND EXHAUST JUST SAY BAD MOTHER F*#KER.

    Steve,

You, Kerry, Craig and Andrew are all real people who care about the customer. You all put your passions into every Job big or small.

The simple act of caring or not caring, for some people, is hard.

When one enjoys what they do, caring comes naturally.

Prettty cool to see someone pointing out something right, when so many others do nothing but complain about what's wrong. Good Job! I'm sure those guys appreciate the love. TR

And same with you Craig. Despite all that I am hearing about you. LOL;)

  14. I have dealt with Steve numerous times. He came through for my shop when we reconstructed the "Chuck Price roadster" on some parts we needed. Was impressed enough with them that the Body on my coupe (as well as the column and steering wheel) came from him.
Not happy that he sold "The Hummer" Anglia though, I was looking forward to match racing him with my "Blair's Speed Shop" Anglia.

Over the years we have always made a point of stopping by Limeworks on our whirlwind tour of the LA area shops and events prior to the LA Roadsters' Show & Swap. I have bought a limited number of parts from them for my roadster like their steering column, turn signal/column drop, steering shaft and joints, etc. But usually it's just a new T-shirt, hat or some small parts. None the less, when we walk in its like old home week. I'm always thinking that they are mumbling under their breath, oh it's those crazy guys from again. But Steve, Craig, and the gang always welcome us and take the time to show us what's new at the shop and just shoot the breeze for a few minutes. Thanks guys, it's greatly appreciated. <O:p</O:p

Glad you started this thread; it's nice to give fellow rodders a well deserved pat on the back now and then. Steve, good seeing you in Austin</ST1:p, hope you had a safe trip back to the shop.<O:p</O:p

If I ever have the pleasure of visiting Limeworks I have orders from my wife to grab Kona and run like hell. Ever since Steve posted some of her antics she is always asking "has Kona done anything neat lately?" I have a feeling that if we ever get another dog (does anyone need more than 2?:)) we will be looking for a Kona "lookalike".

great posting . Quite often guys post negatives about a shop cos it gets their motor running when they are unhappy. When thing go right usually nothing is said. I hope i am correct in assuming you are not on a backhander. The guys at Limeworks are great last year 4 of us Kiwis called by and they were only too happy to show us around and display their work, which we really appreciated. I met a rodder from kansas who had driven all day and all night and arrived there at 8am, we swapped lies etc.

Hi Guys we should be getting the Fordoor back from Kiwi Craig the upholsterer next week so updates will be coming .

Frank , If you see our ads you'll see some of the antics Kona gets up to , none are staged she's just nuts for Hot Rods. She has ridden in my Roadster now, after firing the Hemi in Janel's Fordoor nothing fazes her .

It's a shame the roundup is a 1500 mile drive 'cus Kona would love to meet Mitch. That far with her in a Hot rod would be mental.Especialy as she's taken to the bottle now .
