I just got a 57 roadmaster this past week. Not one vacuum line is hooked up on it. I just got the service manual but the vaccuum diagram section was not covered very well. Does anybody have a diagram at all? For starters, right off the vacuum/oil pump there is a line, where does it go to? Then there are 2 hardlines that starts with a tee right off of the intake one goeas right, one goes left. I'm assuming that the right one goes to the vacuum resevoir and the brake booster. Am I headed in the right direction?? Oh and the wipers are all vacuum run too--- not one of those hooked up either.
On my 58 Buick, the one from the vacuum pump in the pan goes to the wiper motor. The other one from the T on the manifold also goes to the wiper motor. The third one off the T goes to the brake booster. Hope this helps. I just learned about Buick's vacuum/oil pump. WIERD!!!
the one on the vacume pump runs to the vacume wiper motor. and you are right about the one leading to the booster from the manifold. there should also be a hard line from the carb to the distruter for the vacume advance. i dont know what the line from the manifold going to the passanger side would be. im assuming since the vacume pump was a common fail point they just t-ed the manifold vacume for the wipers.
