  1. Seems like, lately I’ve been having more fun than the law allows.
And . . . if you figure I only bent the speed limit a little bit - 80 in a 75 - then guilty as charged.

I’m beginning to think that I need a cruise control in the roadster.
It likes to roll right on by the local 75 mph speed limits so ya gotta watch it.

Even so, I get p***ed by most people so the car’s not standing out too much in the goin’ too fast dept.

This weekend, not so much on the long distance stuff, rather we took in a short car show.
    Short meaning 1000 - 1400 overall.
Four hours ain’t too bad and we only got sunburned a touch.

Funny thing is, Friday night we’d done a four couple Mexican dinner, one where each couple brings a couple of things.
Makes for some great eating as all the gals involved are good cooks.
Geez, a guy could get fat if he didn’t watch it.

Anyway, we were all tired at the end of the evening and decided to skip the car show.

Saturday morning dawned, nice and cool for this area and the high for the day looked to be about 95 so.
I spun the roadster by the car show site on the way to donuts at 0745 and the power parkers were already there.
I decided to take in the show, got home from donuts, called CK and he was for it as well.
The girls stayed home and the shade tents stayed home as well.

Granted, we ain’t the lawn chair, power parking gang, but shade is a necessity out here.
And besides . . . we got official hot rod chairs purchased at the March Meet a few years back.

So CK dusted off the "Great White Whale" and I did a quickie wash job on the dusty, muddy and bug splattered 32.
Ran out of shade near the end and I’m still impressed by Turtle Waxes, wax as you dry stuff and how it removes water spots with no probs.
Always a problem with a black car.
Makes me think about red, yellow or blue paint for the 31.

I’m gonna toss up a bunch of pics with short comments.
The first few, a car that could really be something if some stuff was cleaned up and better engineered.
I post this car because I found the car interesting.

Take note of the spring that bolts to the batwing.
A better arrangement than using the bones imo and it is only an opinion.
Not wanting an argument here so nuff said.

Here’s a nice little 40 that’s based in Lake Havasu from what I understand.
A little fuzzy, but worth a look.

Easy to see why I like it so much.

Here’s a nice little T-Bucket that caught my eye.
    Simple and to the point.
    Note the short windshield.
Plenty high enough to push the wind up and over at speed and it looks like bugs that drop out of the windstream wouldn’t be a problem.

Here’s one of my all-time favorites.
Guy down the street bought one of these new back in the day
It was bright orange and ran orange wheels with little Chevy caps.
Got to ride in it a few times when my 50 Ford sedan was broken.
The orange Chevy, a fast little car.

One of the reasons we do what we do.

A very nice and very well done Chevy.

Sectioned 3" from what I understand.

A local coupe with outstanding workmanship.

Reminds me of DRD57's red oxide coupe ceptin’ for the Deuce grill shell.
    One of my all-time favorites.

Local and extremely talented painter unloading one of his bikes.

    Tired of CryBaby dolls?
    Me too.

This one was a nice touch though.

No crying here and the hardtop convert was very nice.

The show was put on by the local gymnastics academy and they did a terrific job.
Students and teachers wore pink T-shirts and were more than helpful.

The girls had mats on the asphalt parking lot and ran through some bar and floor exercises.
Even the youngest students exhibited a lot of grace and form.

Lots of door prizes, raffle, 50-50 as well as lots of trophies for those who like them.

The most interesting part was, the cars were judged by the gymnasts themselves.
Judge ages appeared to run from 10 or so to about 16-17.

They had a two sheet check off list and they stuck to it pretty good.
The winners in the cl***es I pay attention to were pretty much the cars I would have chosen.

All in all, a fun day and somewhat fast paced with something going on all the time.

Seemed like everyone enjoyed the show and one of the better parts was meeting Lake Havasu HAMBr Inprimer.
    Interesting guy.

There’s more than a few HAMBrs down there and I think I’m the only HAMBr here in Kingman.

Got a little sunburned and am ready for some of the light afternoon into the night runs/shows.
Things don’t get too tough here temp-wise, at least not until 1400 or so.
Key thing is shade and water.
The Havasu gang, they know high temps, really high temps....

This car is/was owned by a club member. A couple of weeks ago, he drove into our Saturday lunch meet at Wienerschnitzel with a For Sale sign on it and I think it got sold to another club member that same day or the next day. It is a cool car with a ton of work done to it. I personally think it would look better with some chrome on it.

The guy who bought the car now has his 58 GMC pickup for sale.

Did you know that our Wienerschnitzel sells BEER?
