Have you installed your clutch m/c yet? I screwed ours up by like 2". I have no idea how I managed to mangle the position so bad but I had to move it over 2" and move the mounting location on the pedal arm itself. Measure twice, cut once. Then repeat as necessary...

I haven't put the clutch m/c in yet but I have an idea on how and where to put it.
As far as the bed is concerned, I going to use the stock s10 gas tank and just run the filler tube through the bed wall. I saw a pic of one like that and it didn't look that bad, besides that's how the '47 trucks were done, just on the right side. I'm gonna try mounting the bed similar to what you said and see what happens. The cross member where the gas take it sticks up a little so we'll see how I'm gonna get around that. As it is right now I have mounts made for the front bed panel and it's sitting where it should be, so I hope that the rest of the bed will follow and be as easy, but probably not.

When you mount the m/c, take into consideration any 'down' travel the shaft will see during the pedal movement. If you don't it can rub. Ask me how I know :(

Sounds good on the gas tank location. Easier to deal with as well. You can always just raise the bed a bit.

Was an 87 s10 4x4 a 6 lug? Whats the width of the rearend? I have a 50 chevy pickup and I'm looking for a rearend. I found an ad on the internet for an 87 blazer with 6 lug I wonder if its the same width? Im trying to get six lug to use my artillerys. Your project looks good. Keep it up!

Looks good Nick. I just pulled the cab off my 47 grain truck and picked up a nearly complete reg cab long bed s10 yesterday. So, I am headed down a similar path as you. I plan to build all the mounts instead of buying the kit. Please post lots of pics. :D

I mounted my seat today. I think that it turned out pretty good. Didn't think about taking any pix until after i was finished and going in for the day, so I will have to take some later when i take it back out.

I was hoping to be able to sit the seat on the original tracks and have them bolt where they ares suppose to, but it didn't turn out that way. I had to move the tracks in about an inch. So I had to make some thing to hold up the front end of the seat. I used 2x4 tubing and welded an 1/8" plate to the top and bolted it to the track. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to weld some angle iron to the side of the square tube and bolt that to the original mounting area.

I will post some pix when I can.

I got around to cutting down my running boards today. I think that they turned out good, just need to put a little bondo on them to help clean them up.
I used 1" masking tape and layered it to 1 3/4" and used that as my cut line.

This is the right side after I welded it back together

It fits really well in there. I did good George.

These are the left side. They need some filler, but they will work until I get to that point.

Today I finally installed my trans cross member. It took a little cutting and welding but it's in and it looks good enough. Of coarse I didn't take any pic's, one man show here. I'm thinking about rolling it out to let it see the sun shine or rain what ever's happening, then I'll take a few pix.

Today was the first time she saw the sun in about 3 years. The body is mounted for the most part. Just a few more finishing welds and I'll be working on the engine soon.

Looks good. Check out my you tube video in my sig line to see what those little red heads turn in to! Mine just finished driver's ed this week and can't wait to run his truck.

Got his clutch figured out and bled out so now it moves on it's own!

    Your's is looking good.

thanks guys. I'm really stoked about it all. I'm still trying to get to billetproof this year. I think it's attainable.

Wait, go back to the bumper mounting thing. What did you do there and did you document it? I guess I COULD look at your photobucket...

I didn't document it but I can take a pic of what I ended up with and explain what I did. I'll do that tomorrow.

So here is how I mounted the bumper. First I put it up on blocks, measured or marked where I was going to cut, cut, welded to plates on the frame.

Since I don't have a lot for getting parts not really a lot of "building" going on. But I did get some wood before I was "let go". My idea is to have a "tool box" in the back of my truck made to look vintage to hide the gas tank. Hence no filler neck sticking out anywhere. Let me know what you think. Thanks guys.

I think that box is a cool solution to an ugly gas tank!:D

Good job so far, get it done so you'll make Billetproof!

Not really getting a lot done, just a few odds and ends here and there. But I thought that I would post a pic of the door panels that I made yesterday. They aren't done yet, they still need to get the upholstery done, but they still look good as they are now. [IMG]

And if anyone could tell me what is suppose to go here (in the red circle) that would be great.

A section of trim goes there from top to bottom ,the screws go all the way through to the out side and they go into the chrome strip on the outside. Hope this helps if not send me a pm and I can take pictures of my truck .
