Can I run a 155-80 tire on a 15x6" wheel?

The BFG catalog says the max wheel width on their 155-80's would be a 5.5".

Could they be ran safely on a 6" wheel or is 5.5" the limit?

they will go on the 6" wheel no problem, but they look kinda dumb. that tire would be way better on a 4.5-5" wheel.

The car already has Radial T/A's out back on 8" wheels (255's), however the front tires (8 ply, 26" M/T Sportsmans) are dry rotted and need to be replaced. I already have the 6" wheels as well.

The look I am going for is a skinny front, like the M/T tire, but want (1) a radial and (2) preferably something to match the T/A's out back.

Does anyone have any pictures showing how good (or bad) this may look?

I have a ball-park idea what they'd look like on a 4 or 4.5" wheel (used to run 165SR15's on a set of "skinnies"), but am curious to see how bad they will distort on the wider wheel (like a 6").

I had 165's on 15x6 Torque thrusts for a while, but I wasn't really happy with the look.

The sidewall barely had any bulge and was about in line with the rim. A 155 would be worse.
