This 51 merc is mine. Yes it was a sedan but it had almost zero rust. So I Streched the doors 10.5" just like a true coupe. Chopped it 6.5" in the front and 9" in the rear. Thats low so I Raised the side window openings 3/4". Put a 50 ford back window into it. It is a true fastback style of chop. They are one of the hardest chops to get a nice pofile.
Kick ass dude. Nice job.The hardtop looks great.A Kustom that nice deserves a lot of thought for color.
Thanks for all your good words on this build. Working on the frame right now and hope to have the body mounted by next week.
It's a 50 and another one that i am building for my self. GB & Thanks. Rick Erickson of EXK 951 852-3593 21093 Grand ave Wildomar Ca 92595 EXTREME KUSTOMS www.ericksonskustoms.com
Lots of trick mods on that body. I'll bet there are mods on there that even the experts will not notice. Something about the angle of the trunk, hmmm Pretty radical work on that frame up front. I hope you post a pic with the front suspension parts assembled on to it. That would be pretty interesting.
Ok,those were the shock mounts. I couldn't guess from the bare frame picture. Damn, nice work on those a arms and bag positioning.
Thanks for the comp. Id rater have good luck than skill any day of the week. Have been bagging street cars for over 15 years.
Not a knock but do you always hardtop merc's? I was looking at your site and they all seem to be hardtopped. Great workmanship by the way.
Heres some pics of the rear suspension. With our style of rear air suspension we do not have to cut the floor or trunk pan !!!!!! yet the frame rails will easily lay ground GB & Thanks, Rick Erickson of EXK 21093 Grand ave Wildomar Ca 92595 EXTREME KUSTOMS www.ericksonskustoms.com
