Actually several questions! Does anyone have any more pictures they could post of the Barris built Jesse Lopez 41? I think this is one of the slickest custom cars ever built. I'd especially like to see a shot of the rear, as I'm interested in the exhaust tips. Which brings me to question #2, Anyone running (or ran) echo can exhaust tips? What do they do for the sound? And lastly, does the Lopez '41 still exist?
According to Barris, who still knows Jesse, the car is gone. No clue as to where, but it's been gone a long time. (I talked to him here in Wichita, at Starbird's show). I agree, IMHO, this has to be one of, if not the best fat Ford Kustom built by Barris. Foose's '48 is a close 2nd, but in a more modern, more "perfect" style. Jesse's is the cl***ic (Sam) Barris early custom. This car set the style. Again, IMHO, it's better than the Matranga '40, or the Hirohata '51. Lurker Mick has more info on it, I believe Jesse sold it to a guy named Lares, but after that... He posted these pics for me before:
I have a grill just like that hanging outside the shop... BTW Wichita.. How the hell have you been Snacho
Yea, that's mine. It's been sitting a while now. I started working on changing out the steering, and got burned out. Thanks for the reminder, I'd sorta forgotten that it looked that good.
