FWIW - I use it a great deal to stay in touch with my profesional network. I've found it very helpful when I'm looking for a job or looking for talent to add to my organization. I like to build my teams with the good people I know and have worked with in the past. I use it to check out people I'm interviewing or who are interviewing me.

I also use it to check out people and organizations I'm considering doing business with. It doesn't make or break a deal but its always good to know who you're dealing with.
