Ive heard mid to late 60's Mustang work good..no later than 68
I ended up with a set of T-bird seats al little late in the years..they are a bit too wide, but im going to go with them until i find something better, I just removed the head rest

as far as the back set..i used a Mid seat out of a chrysler mini van..fit great

I narrowed a bench seat from a Ford pickup for my '38 Dodge Coupe and plan to do something similar with my recently acquired '29 A Pickup

^^^^Thats what I'm using 65 mustang. They fit good ,but they are a little tight with a driveshaft tunnel.

  5. early jeep seats. Low backs, low bottom and fixed/not folding. A lot like dodge A100 van seats(oh theres another). You can get new ones by "Bestop" look in jeep catalogs, JC Whitney, Summit. I think they are called classic lowback replacement seats or something. I have two in my RPU

For a sedan..the type that fold forward or come completely up in the back are a definite plus. especially if you have a back seat.
If you have channeled and Z'ed the car so that you dont have a back seat ,than folding forward will not be an issue

Ive been looking for a set of these since the first time you posted them..up here in the Rust Belt those 70's Rice burners didnt last much longer than 3 to 4 years and ended up getting melted back down to make rebar for the freeways

they look perfect..how wide are they?

  11. i can't recall the exact width , but they are narrow enough to fit inside the cab if you mount them real close to each other without touching the doors when they close. they also have a seat track that gives about 5" of for/aft adjustment and you can adjust the angle of the seat backs. they did have a very small headrest , but very easy to take off. they are also very easy to mount with some simple homemade brackets. most people think they are stock seats

i used a pair in a `29 tudor i built in the 80's and was very happy with them , that's why i used them again in my `28 tudor

yes , they may be getting hard to find since they are at least 30 years old. i bought these probably 15+ years ago at a junkyard and i think i paid $40 for the pair. of course , they have been re-upholstered

There is a guy in the classifieds selling some way old movie theater seats that look cool as hell. Like old bomber seats but with padding.

i don't know where you'd find them but stock Studebaker Avanti seats look cool as hell; also seats from Austin Healeys (real "bucket" style) look sweet. Mustang buckets with redone covers would be cool, if you change the hinges so they fold straight and not angled over. lots of old VW's gave up their seats for rods back in the day too, light and easy to make mounts for.
