I just painted my 64 Econoline interior with the SEM Hot Rod Black. It turned out great, but i missed a few spots and I've got some dirt in glove box door. I've also got a few thin spots. My question is can I wet sand the glove box door and shoot it with another coat? Also, can I just spray over the spots that I missed and the thin spots or do I need to sand first? The paint is dry and I won't be able to work on it again until Saturday. Any help would be appreciated. I'll try to post some pics later.
Wetsand and recoat the dirty areas. Check the tech sheets, but I'd say finish at 600 wet. Do the same for any thin spots and anything that you missed. Good luck.
Some paint manufactures say there is a window, usualy 12-24 hrs, that you don't have to sand. They say the chemicals are still in the previously sprayed paint and will chemicly bond with the paint being spraied over it. I would say thow if it is dry enough to sand then sand it. If there isn't any dirt you can use grey scotch pads to sand painted ereas but they don't really sand dirt out but you can use them dry and keep from getting everything wet.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll give it a shot and let you know how it turns out. I'll try to post some pictures. Thanks Again!!
