i'm just about ready to tape out my 64 t-bird. and i'm wanting a mid/late 60's mild custom feel. the plan is: base white paint, with mild watson scallops on the body, hoos, trunk, etc. would lace on the roof clash? or would it all work together without being to over the top? all the scallops and lace would be done in a silver/micro flake pearl for a very subtle look. and thin pinstriping of all lines in a washed out teal to bring the interior together. heres a quick rough idea. for the front of the car. thoughts, concerns, any input is appreciated.
looks good,,, i would use a more popping candy color on the roof,,, with the flake and lace,,,,since the rest of the car will be plain white, not a pearl or anything,,, xoxoox miss hootch
I'd seriously consider adding pearl to the white base paint too. Personally not usually fond of scallops, but that's a pretty good layout you have there. Are you going to shave/ french the antenna? Shave the lettering on the hood? I also agree with Miss Hootch- a more eye catching color on the roof would do it good. My 2 cents. Rock on.
I had two cars with Lace. 66 Cuda,68 RR. The lace was black and stood out. I bought them both done. and I liked it. I think 60s style should have lace that is more bold. Good Luck
also, incorporate some of the wrap-around scallops,,, maybe on the hood/trunk and on your side panels,,, here's some trunk ones xoxox miss hootch
