Cruising returns to Van Nuys Blvd

Is this a real event? I wanted to tell some of the guys from threegeez to come out if it's ok with you, we are old school import guys,none of the fast and furious crap, our cars are too old for that junk. if it's ok with you all i will put up a post on the board,if not i won't put it up. we have a bunch of guys in Cali and most everyone on the board are real car guys.

 

The June 10th cruise is classic cars as seen on the Blvd in the 60's and 70's....The only imports around then were VW's of all models (bugs, vans, squarebacks) and 510 Datsuns with a few 240Z's thrown in...Maybe a Porsche now and then...Not trying to be rude, but we are keeping the ricers out of it....
Maybe you should try contacting Mike Shaw....

 

thats why i was asking instead of having a bunch of guys just show up,wasn't sure of the years that would be out there. a bunch of us usually show up at nopi but the young "ricers" don't want anything to do with our old cars. lol.

 

Found out today that Mike Shaw is the brother of Rick......

What a fucking "squirrel". That guy in that van came off the railroad tracks at Roxford and pulled right in front of my Chevelle as I was clicking 2nd gear in a race one night. I almost wrecked into the side of that van.
"Squirrel"=street racer terminolgy for one who acts immaturely/irresponsibly in a street race environment, possibly putting others in danger

Went down Van Nuys on my way home from work yesterday...At 7:30 in the evening on a Friday night it was pretty vacant....(hey, that's a Sex Pistols song).
The only really bad part was seeing Valley Dodge sitting empty after 44 years.
I think there will be a lot of room for us to fill on the street on June 10th...

 

Had a '64 Dart a few years ago that was special ordered from there. I bought it from the original owner. Had the original bill of sale. Dart GT. 225 six w/4spd, trac-loc 3.91 gears and dealer installed 4bbl and header.. That's another one that got away.

 

Sooo this sucks... The cruise Is in a few weeks and my ride decided to take a shit on me... I think its the generator. I took it to this guy that helped me out with it the last time and he was no help. I'm wishing I could get a new wire harness and convert it to 12v but I have no idea how to do that. Any locals wanna help a kid in need so I can get my ride running by the 10th? It would suck to help set this up and not be able to cruise.

 

OK, charge the battery that day, and drive to Van Nuys with a spare battery in the trunk to swap out if needed. Was that so hard?
