og? dunno what the hell you mean. and ive never seen any booster like that, hopefully someone can chime in
that looks like some sort of hydroboost like on a chevy g van. How are you using two seperate M/C for one brake system? Is it a balance bar concoction? Im confused.
I couldnt tell u exactly wat it is off of, but i can tell u its probably of a heavy or medium duty truck. the junkyard i worked for used one in his bigger forklift, and we always pulled them out of medium duty trucks incase we needed one, i dont know if they work very well since the forkleft brakes barely worked, and uh.... yea we never really fixed it... but yea, it a serperate booster unit, pretty much it to make brakes effective when you have a large load and you dont ahve modern tech. o yea and it is just a booster unit, not the master cylinder
I thought the hydroboost ran off of power steering fluid for low-vacuum engines. Is that just a normal style booster that is seperate from the rest of the system? Maybe some odd aftermarket thing.
OK : On your last pic there is a part number on that big hex nut. Take that number to a real parts house {NAPA-CarQuest etc] and they should be able to get you a rebuilt unit. I can read the date ,that's not what you want. I t is a "Midland" built unit ,could be off damm near anything. That style unit is called a Hydrovac!
Looks like some of the hydrovacs that were mounted below the floor board on early 60's chevy / gmc. Maybe after market?
I read this and wondered if in fact the line that goes "to the rear brakes" actually goes to the hydraulic clutch.
hydrovac, used as "power brakes" on lots of trucks in the 50s-60s, my 75 dodge motorhome has two, one front, one for rear. early T birds used them too. 64 trucks did not have hydraulic clutch, you can see it's an original single m/c.
thanks for all the help guys sorry for the bad info and pics but thats what my buddy sent me and told me so we are on the same page....i will look into hydrovac systems and take that part number to napa and see what they say! if anyone knows more about it please post it up!
take all that shit out and start over. cheaper than that hydroboost set up. Trust me Im changing one out in a van right now.
yea thats what i told my friend...but hes thinking about it i think hes just curious on what that think came off of more than anything u know
