I have removed all of the beltline trim and filled the holes. I made holes for the wipers but I’m starting to think I should just shave it. What are your opinions and is it legal? I’m in socal so it doesn’t rain much and I know that if I chop it wipers wont be much good. Thanks guys.

On the 55- I eliminated the wipers. But I didn't fill the holes, I bought polished stainless carriage bolts & p***ed them right through the trim w/ a nut underneth. That way- you could install wipers later (which I never did).

I know here in WV you HAVE to have a wiper, says so in plain English in the law book (I read through it til my head hurt a while ago to know exactly what you can get away with)... But they don't say how many or that it even has to be powered. 'course I just don't get my cars inspected (other than my DD) to begin with. No sticker is less noticable than an expired sticker! The whole WV law book is online, so I'm sure California's is (if ours is online, EVERYONES must be online), if you can stomach the legalise it probably has a whole section devoted to vehicle equipment.

    Steve,

I like the way you did yours. I have seen alot of 54's without the wipers and I think it looks good, but I also did alot of work to fit the wipers in without the trim and make them work.

and heres a ****py pic of what I have so far. If I keep em I'm gonna weld round stock over the top radius.

It sure can look clean, but wipers make a car a lot more drivable.......especially when they get more full sized.

That's what RainX is for. ;) Works on the roadster, works on the 55.
I've been caught in some pretty good downpours & it sheets right off w/ th RainX.

Probably not legal to loose the wipers, that's why I did mine w/ a carriage bolt.
