Guys I told my cousin that you'll would probaly know what a 392 hemi would be worth. I know nothing about them. He has had two of them in his garage at home for years and was wanting to sell them. He says they came out of chrysler new yorkers years ago. thanks for the help jerry
It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.... Should post this over in the "For sale" cl***ified section. Tell your cousin to do a little research...search the internet, watch e-bay and get a feel for what people are selling these motor for. Hard to give prices for motors of unknown condition....and most won't waste there time throwing numbers at you...your the seller, or your cousin is, he needs to come up with a price!! Not us!!
I'm no expert, but they seem to be all across the board. Some guys ask a bunch and others don't. A friend of mine bought one recently complete for $800 and another guy I that I have met at a few car shows, that I also think is on this forum, bought one recently with the ****** (at a car show) for $1,000. But then you watch ebay and guys are sometimes asking several thousand for something that still needs to be all gone through.
Thanks, He isnt on the internet and doesn't do the computor. thought maybe someone might be interested. I thought I would get some help here with whats it worth be fore he ask a high or low price. thanks again sorry for the trouble. jerry
I should of searched the form frist I guess. But it looks like to me that they are worth 2000.00 to 3000.00 . All parts are there and together and the transmission is there too if interested. He has two of them. To much garage art.
2,000-2,500 is typical. The ******s are worth little, except to restorers. Many "392s" aren't. Look up the engine use codes & make sure what he has. Hemi tech index.
You don't want them old boat anchors tell what I will give him one good in high demand belly ****on sbc for the 2 boat anchor 392's and hell he can keep the trans.haha I would say if they are decent and have not been sitting outside for awhile prolly $1200-1700 just for the engines trans I have no clue.
Jerry, have your buddy check the ID number and we all can know for sure what they are. A '92 might be worth $2k but a 354 is only ½ that! The ID number is stamped on the top front of the block behind the water pump, just in front of the valley cover. Gary
