So theres this little RodRun thats been going on for 20yrs this year local to us.
Its mainly stuff we dont care so much for, and lots of big motorhomes and such, but we go cuz its a super laid-back chillin weekend for us.

So this year Me, Diamond Dave and Moon Man took our little canned HAMB campers and went.

Heres a few pics. I had a great time just sitting in the shade and doing nothing. I dont think I walked the show more than 1 time all weekend.

We were off away from most everyone else and that was fine by me.

Besides the 3 of us, Jbird came and stayed in his van sat. night, and a few of the other guys came and went.

here a few pics. Happy Memorial Day. Thank a Vet.

That looks like fun. I've been driving p*** a trailer similar to those on my way to work and now I'm afraid I'll have to stop and check on it.

Looked like great fun. I must admit I'm becoming more & more interested in those neat ol' trailers. They hark back to a simpler time.

  10. When we came back from a swap meet last spring my wife bought a 17 foot 1968 Golden Falcon trailer. Turned out we were the FIRST registered owners. The camper had been barged down the bay and used as a guest cabin at a cottage. When the owner died it came up in the estate auction. Low miles....all nautical.

Oh, yeah. Well done. Thanks for the reminder that this hobby is about listening to your own drummer. Gotta get my tent and sleeping bag squared away..... haven't had them out in a while.

That's thirteen kinds of fun right there! Still looking for another one myself. I kick myself in the *** every time I think about trading the one I had for a POS project car...22 years ago!

    Thanks guys.

The Run is called Campfire Streetrodders Rodrun, in Girard Ohio. Like I said, theres 90% non-HAMB type cars, but....we make our own fun.

We snuck in that outta the way area and pretty much stayed there.

There are alot of good people we know who do that run, just not HAMB type stuff for the most part.

But between me, Diamond Dave, Moon Man and Jbird, there was 4 HAMBers, and I know that there were at least 3-4 other guys there who are HAMB members.

I had PMs asking what the campers are.

    Mine is a 61 Scotty
Daves yellow one is a 58 Metzendorph
Sams is a 63 EZ Traveler

    Good times, Good friends

Great! The price of old camp trailers just went up nationwide!
I've got a 47 Kit teardrop trailer and my eye on an old Scotty.
A guy I worked with years ago was eyeballing a Pierce-Arrow Travelodge by a guy's house in a little town SE of here. Funny thing was another guy found one right near there too! I told my guy about it and he rushed out that night and found "HIS" trailer still there and bought it after watching it for about 10 years! They aren't much to look at from outside but are roomy and nice inside.

You guys had a great time I'm sure. Some day I'll have one myself! Often have thought of getting a small camper such as one of those. Love the pics.
