scored a 1957 Mercury Monterey, for free! Pick it up tomorrow, may be able to drive it the 140 miles home with alittle work. It has sat for 5 years but was left in great shape.
Person got tired of it in the drive way and gave me a call.

Is the front track supposed to be that much wider?

I didn't score anything, but dang near put the final nail in my yard truck's coffin, while moving my shed.

from a coworker i got a big box of magazines. 180+ little books, about a dozen different ***les, including a bunch of spotlite mags, plus over a hundred hot rod, PHR, etc from the 60's. all in near mint condition. i offered a c-note for the works and he gladly sold off his dads old collection of mags.

Hows this!! On a trip up to cheeseland while walking to the outdoor shower we had to use,and after finding out the keys to the car I was going to take to go "hunting" in town were with my friend who went golfing leaving me stranded, I stumbled on this septic tank cover!! After informing the owner that this was signs of abuse of a sign he said I could have it!! I will give him some diamondplate from my shop to put in it's place!!! And I thought I got skunked!! guess not!! I also won some booze with 2 raffles!

I made a deal on this '54 olds. Doesn't look like this now. These are pics from when the current owner got it. he blew it apart, fixed all the rust, got it ready for paint and stopped due to health problems. Now it is in a million pieces, but everything is there including the 324 / hydro and all the trim.

365 Cadillac motor, 1958 I think. I need to look up the numbers some time. It came out of a 51 buick so I thought that was pretty cool, good thing the owner didn't so that I could add it to my collection.

  17. Saw but didn't buy:

30-31 A roadster, channeled at some distant past date, set over an equally old boxed stock frame, with radius rods on the front axle (taken from still a third old hot rod) and a newer rear installed as a roller. $3800 would have bought it. The guy next to him had a little modified with I think a Dodge body set on a Z-ed frame for $1500, just the body and frame, set up for Ford suspension. He had a picture of it mocked up with a wide-5 rear and it looked pretty slick even in primer.

I bought an old heater in nice shape for $5, because I didn't really sell much myself, the only guy who did good was the guy selling stuff for a dollar each. I hope that's not a sign of how the season's going to be.

Score of the weekend is the '40 Ford coupe body my buddy bought. Decent body with doors and trunk, no fenders, but included garnishes and a dash. I didn't see how the floors were but I guess they're not bad. The guy wanted $500 for the body without the dash and garnishes, but included them for another $100.

And I have a line on a '64 Ford crew-cab truck for cheap. Those are supposed to be pretty scarce I guess. I'm not a Ford guy so much, but if I can flip it and make a few bucks I don't care who made it.

All I got was a GMC 4-71 blower for my "next" flathead project, one more piece of the puzzle. Pictures to follow...

  21. I was told about a '40 Buick convertable for $500.00. Field find, can't wait to see it, I'm imagining a giant pile of rust with a Buick somewhere inside of it!

I found this '40 Buick special coupe. NO rust, 2 owners. Has a rebuilt motor that needs re***embly. Comes with a spare motor, 2 transmissions and lots of extra parts. Interior good except needs seat covers. Been in garage for 20 years. What do you think it's worth?

  23. Hey All,

This is not a for sale thread...yet! I got a hold of a 27 Turtledeck "T" Roadster, I've attached a couple of photos. In addition to what you see in the photos, he has all the fenders, hood, decklid, windshield (he thinks) and maybe the top bows.
Problem is that I'm not a "T" guy, so if he finds all the parts, I will drag er home, but probably won't ? do anything but turn it. If you have an interest? PM me as it would make a great track roadster.

My wife "scored" a new front loading washer and dryer, I managed to get a '67 utility trailer for free. It's pretty cool (or rather, it will be) and it has a pair of 15" hubcaps on it with a funky shaped "N"...I'll post pics later, I'm curious what they're off of.

  26. Driving home from M***achusetts on Friday we stopped at a yard sale about 5 miles from home.We had $20 left in cash.My wife saw a large flower pot she just had to have for $15.I am looking at a case full of camera equipment including a Beseler Topcon 35mm SLR with a standard 58mm lens along with a 28mm fisheye and a 135mm telephoto,a 2X extender,a polarizing filter, and a complete Metz 202 professional grade electronic flash kit.Cost me the rest of our cash($5!!!).
Bought a battery for it today that costs $4 and it works perfectly.About $600 worth of equipment.Just what I need;a new collection!
