Keep on doing what you're doing. Car looks great and is being built in g***er style!!!

Rear suspension is great with the leafs and floaters, so much better than the CARTOON G***ER WANNA BE I am seeing lately that people are calling g***ers.

(If I see another set of 6 foot ladders I am gonna puke!)

Good job! you have done your homework on this one!

really nice work. I was wondering where you got your front axle and leafs from, or did you custom make them?

That'd be an altered or an AFX'er with an engine setback like that. In fact, I don't think it'd make it in FX, either. as I recall, a 2% setback was max.

Cool build!! The Speedway Kit. Is it chromoly?? Noticed some printing on the tube??? Any reason why its a dropped one, instead of a straight one? Like I said, *****in build-up!!

Nope, not chromoly. I went with the drop axle to be on the safe side.I knew there was'nt going to be very much weight over the axle and I was afraid that I would'nt get the stance that I wanted. So I figured I can always go "UP" with blocks or spacers, but would be much more difficult to go "DOWN". I'll get the stance I need once I set it on all fours.
Like I was saying eariler,it is for my girlfriend so I did'nt want it jacked sky high in the front making it more difficult for her to drive on the street.

Digging the build, looks like it will be a beast when done. Whats the thickness of your front frame rails?

Got the floaters tacked in and was happy that the rear spring shackle angle is correct at simulated ride height.
Also made upper shock mounts for the front axle.

I wish I could edit the ***le of this thread. I do understand now the difference between Gas cl*** cars and F/X cars. With the front axle moved foward it no longer can run in a Gas cl*** and would be bumped to the F/X. If the axle was in stock location, the set back measured from the axle to the first spark plug hole is only 7"(the wheel base stock is 110") so the set back would be O.K.But the car would still be bumped because it would'nt have factory floors.
So between the lengthened wheel base and non factory floors,it is an F/X car.
